So this doesn’t feel or function like a cheap $20 talkies.It works well and is clear sounding with good quality. It feels heavy and sturdy, it has laughable light to function when I’m need of something rather than nothing. The belt clip is essential and there are enough frequencies to choose from. My only gripe is that there is no way this reaches 5 miles. In the one event we used this for it wouldn’t reach over .5-1 mile. When it’s in range it’s clear, bit we were working at a huge compound that stretched easily over a mile and we had issues maintaining connectivity in said venue. It’s better for regular, average size venues.

The Walkie Talkies for Adults were purchased for occasional use while testing/repairing lawn sprinklers - 1 at the controller and 1 in the field. Comments following review new and testing:1. Both devices received along with 2 each USB A/C charge cords and instruction manual.2. Plastic materials comprising body and components appear to be of good quality and well manufactured/assembled - solid build, good quality feel in hand and responsive buttons/switches.3. Fronts details control buttons - Call, Down/Monitor, Menu/Lock, Flashlight, Up/Scan - Mic, Speaker and Control Screen. Tops have antennae, flashlight and on/off/volume knob. Left side PTT button, right side USB C charge and headset ports both under water resistant cover. Back has belt clip which must be removed for battery access.4. Control screens provide extensive use details including channels, scan, hands free, lock, battery level and menu options to name a few - lot of options/functions/information for small and inexpensive radios.5. 22 channels and 99 privacy codes provide good opportunity for good quality and secure connectivity.6. Light but solid belt clip and ability to stand vertically on base.7. Overall operational testing was good:a. Range tested up to 1/2 mile in unobstructed area without issue - tests within 1 acre yard had no issues even with home as obstruction - Nice.b. PTT operation seamless with minimal delay and clear reception.c. Volume control very good even with background noises.d. Battery longevity not tested but with lithium batteries it is anticipated to be good.e. Several minor issues - backlit screen is weak as is flashlight, and hands free/Vox function has up to 1 second delay on call receipt.Form, Fit and Function of the walkie talkie radios is Good with the few minor qualifications provided - durability and longevity are anticipated to be Good as well. Value is Very Good at the $22.49 pice point considering the quality build, functions and operation - not suited for heavy commercial/industrial use, but very good for light/medium/home use. 5 Star rating and recommended for lighter use as noted.

My brother and I are planning on rewiring our beach house this summer, and there will be times when one of us is under the house or up in the attic fishing or feeding a wire to the other one of us. Being able to talk to each other is essential and I thought these would come in handy. There have also been times when my wife was helping me with something while she was in the house and I was up in the attic and these would have been nice to have around.Of course, you can always use your cell phones, but cell phones generally don't have belt clips and you don't really want to be taking cell phone in places like attics where you could drop your phone into some inaccessible place. I'd much rather damage or lose one of these than a $1500 cell phone.These little walkie talkies work well enough, except for "VOX" mode. That is a mode you can put it in, where you don't have to press the talk button. It's supposed to detect a voice and automatically start transmitting. Unfortunately, that feature doesn't work very well at all. There are three sensitivity settings. Settings 1 and 2 don't work at all. Setting 3 works some of the time, but when it does work there is a delay before it turns on so the first part of what you were saying isn't transmitted.There is a little white LED "flashlight" at the top of the case along with a corresponding on/off button, but it's not very bright. It might come in handy if you're in a bind and need some light and anything is better than nothing, but it's no substitute for a real flashlight.At this price point and for occasional use where you either don't care about VOX mode (or you're willing to put up with the delay), they're ok. Voice quality is clear enough. If you want reliable hands-off mode, you may want to look elsewhere.If you need something like this for everyday use, or where safety and reliability is essential, I'd look into something a bit more professional. I wouldn't go hiking or rock climbing with these, at least not in an area where there isn't cell service.

My kids and I really enjoyed using walki talki !! The battery last long! Very easy to use! In the house, at the camping, where ever we go this is must item that we're taking with. Very recommend!!

These radios are perfect for business and warehouse use, along with camping, hiking, picnicking, etc. They don't feel/look like a toy. They are very well made, feel and look resistant and sturdy. We actually tested the pair in the city/neighborhood on how far they truly work, and we were able to maintain clean and clear communications for a little over half mile. The box says that up to 5 miles, hmm maybe in the desert. As the weather improves we’ll be camping in the mountains, wooded areas. Not sure how far they will reach there, but still worth taking for safety reasons, especially when we have our young grandson with us. Of course, the distance all revolves around obstructions, as the product details expressly note. For the price point and quality, very good overall!
