We don't have any 220MHz repeaters in town, I use the band for simplex with a friend. It works well on all bands. This includes a good collection of accessories. I prefer using a hand mic rather than the ear piece. The extra power comes in handy, but mostly I don't need it around here.

Love this radio. It has all the features youโd expect in a handheld radio and they all work very well. I donโt have all the fancy equipment to test if itโs really putting out what they advertise so Iโll leave that to other reviewers, but I can tell you this has met all my expectations as far as range so far. The color screen looks amazing and it comes with all the accessories you need, including some extras like different antennas. The speaker also sounds very good.

I've been looking at these for a while now and decided to finally snag one. Now that I have it, I honestly don't know what I'll use this for. I read that you could use this as a emergency operations scanner to pick up law enforcement and fire department traffic but it's useless for that in my area since all of our LEO and Emergency Responders have switched off of 400 frequencies to higher frequencies that this doesn't appear to have access to. I tried listening to local ham radio chatter but it didn't pick up anything. The radio station function works fine, but again, I have radios that do that better. I will keep this handy and charged in the event of grid failure, but other than that, I don't see the point. It doesn't have a fixed antenna so it can't be licensed for amateur radio. I found it fairly easy to access the menus and program a few channels but doing that for more than a few channels will be cumbersome without the usage of CHIRP. Overall, not what I was hoping but works for what it is. If you specifically want a Baofeng UM-5R or have fallen for the ads stating that this will be outlawed, go for it as it comes with a decent amount of accessories. If you're looking for something that will also pick up police frequencies or amateur radio, keep looking.

Iโm very happy with everything about my order except that it only called with one programming cable, instead of two.

I like this radio quite a bit . Better antenna selection than most others out of the packages. Ir feels solid and well built . Screen is nice and easy to read. All in all , great radio for the price.

Well, I have Baofeng and Tidradio handhelds. They were also the same, programmed with channel zero and 127. If you are going to sell in the US, why in the world not upload the 22 or so GMRS channels in each so that people can use them right away in channel mode? Not everyone wants to program in their own frequencies or use repeaters. So, for my other sets, I just used the CHIRP program, downloaded what was on each radio, then had to manually enter in all of the GMRS frequencies. Then, upload that image to the walkies and it worked fine. For some reason these would not transmit but could receive. Checked the other settings like band range, etc. all good. It was simple on the others, this one must have been defective as even if the frequency was off (it was not) it should still show a transmit color or icon and other radios should pick up a disturbance in the force even if not transmitting voice. So, they must be defective and I returned them. Overall, if you get a good set and program it in CHIRP (free online) then you have to find the list of GMRS (like 462.500 etc.) and enter a frequency for the corresponding channel. Then upload to the radio. Not too bad, but really, just pre-program then then the egghead radio guys can program what they want later or use a repeater, etc.
