These are rugged, inexpensive Family Radio Service (FRS) radios with the nice inclusion of acoustic tube earpieces. No license is required to use these. The belt clip attaches to the radio body, and not the battery pack(good), but the inflexible antenna is a weak point to be aware of.These are likely either a clone, white label, or re-badge, of the popular Baofeng BF-88A (itself the FRS compliant version of the BF-888s ham license radio). The controls are simple, and well placed for casual users. Power users may want to purchase a programming cable to change settings such as CTCSS/PL-tones, but the radio is limited to transmit on FRS frequencies only, so you can only to so much with the software.Charging is only possible with the included cradle charger. I would love to see a USB-C charging port built into the radio itself, and either a stubbier antenna or a flexible one. But for now, I call this one a win.

These TIDRADIO walkie talkies are a great option if you want something more dependable than a toy but donât need professional-grade equipment. I picked up the 2-pack for my kids, and theyâve really enjoyed using them. Iâve been impressed with how well theyâve held up and how simple they are to use.Right out of the box, theyâre ready to go. You just turn them on, match the channels, and start communicating. No tricky programming or complicated setup. The included earpieces add a fun touch, especially for my 11-year-old who loves playing "secret agent." The earpiece plug is too large for my 4-year-old, which isnât surprising since this product isnât aimed at younger kids, but itâs worth mentioning for other parents considering it.The walkies have already survived a fair amount of rough handling, including being dropped and even thrown a few times by my youngest. So far, theyâve kept working without a hitch. The antennas are soft and flexible, which helps prevent any breakage, and the overall build feels tough enough to handle everyday use by kids.I really like the charging stands that come with them. We set ours up in a central spot, and the kids know to return the walkies there when theyâre done. That way theyâre always charged and ready to use. The only downside is that the walkies have to be tilted into the stand at just the right angle to make a connection. Itâs a bit finicky and something both my youngest and I find a little tricky. Strangely, my older child manages it without trouble. As for range, the best Iâve gotten so far is around 700 feet. That was with some hills and houses in the way, so your results may vary depending on your environment. Itâs definitely far from the 5-mile max they advertise, but for neighborhood use or day trips where cell service might drop out, they do the job well.Overall, these walkie talkies are a great value at the current price. Theyâre easy to use, durable, and fun for both practical communication and creative play. I wouldnât rely on them for critical communication in professional settings, but for families and light use, theyâre an excellent pick.

These are pretty cheap. I got em so that when we go boating or camping where there isnt any phone signal that we would still be able to communicate and stay in contact. I found that the sound was pretty scratchy and static. I want to say that there is like 16 channels or 18 if I remember right that you can get to by turning the knob but you'll need to both be on the same channel for you to be able to talk to each other. I wished that there was a way to have a scan feature so that while your just sitting there it could be scanning and trying to hear others but it didn't. I ended up giving them to my kids so that they can play around with them and do what they want. I wouldn't get them unless your desperate, they are just not built like they should just really cheap

The TD-V2 Walkie Talkies are a great value for staying connected without relying on cell service. The long-range reception is impressive for the size, and theyâre compact enough to fit easily in a jacket pocketâperfect for travel or outdoor adventures. The included earpieces are discreet and comfortable, making communication more private and convenient. While these could definitely be used by kids, Iâll be using them during a summer trip to the Grand Canyon to stay in touch with my group, especially in areas without cell phone coverage. So far, setup and operation have been smooth. Looking forward to putting them to useâthey seem like a very handy tool for off-the-grid communication.

These walkie talkies are great, especially for the price. They come with a complete ear piece for each one. They charge via USB and each has its own adapter. They charged up fully in a couple of hours and when tested they work perfectly. They also come with a belt clip that you can attach if you want. Overall a great value!

Bottom line up front, I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a compact, cost-effective FRS setup. These can be reprogrammed (with additional components) to be incorporated into other FRS setups, or they can just be used the way they are out of the box. When I bought these they were $17 for a pair, for a pair! I can't even find a decent set of kids walkie-talkies for that price. They were extremely well packed, came with two radios, two charging docks, and they even included the USB bricks to plug them into the wall. Also in the package were the earpieces (they are comfortable and have clear audio), and belt clips. The plastic does kind of feel like it might be prone to cracking, but despite dropping one a couple times and it getting a little scuff, they're holding up well.

These walkie talkies were ready to go right out of the boxâjust turned them on and picked the same channel. Theyâve got great range and the sound is really clear. The included earpieces are actually really comfy and make it easier to hear in loud places. Keeping them plugged in and ready, just in case
