This robotic cleaner is a tank and has made pool maintenance way easier. Setup was simple, and once it gets going, the smart path planning actually makes a difference. It covers the entire pool methodically instead of randomly bouncing around.Battery life has been solid. I usually get the full 3 hours of runtime, which is enough to handle a large in-ground pool. It climbs the walls and scrubs the waterline surprisingly well for a cordless unit. The “smart return” feature is convenient. It reliably returns to the edge when the battery is low, so I’m not fishing it out from the middle of the pool. It’s a time-saver that does a thorough job. If you’re looking for something that handles floor-to-wall cleaning with minimal oversight, this one’s a powerhouse.

Been looking for a lazy way to get the pool clean in the spring, and let's face it, throughout the summer too. Tried other versions of these robots and the last one, seems to have issues moving around the pool since there is a slight incline and would something get stuck on the middle drain in the deeper end of the pool with its small wheels. No issues with this tank of a pool cleaner though, with its massive wheels and tracks.Upon receiving the unit, I was amazed at how beefy it was and seemingly well made it looks. The unit feels heavy and tuff. Charging is a simple matter of plugging the unit with the provided charger and letting it go through its charging cycle. Cleaning is also a breeze with the simple basket removal needed through the lid on the front of the unit.Setting the unit in motion, is also very simple with a simple long press of the button until it powers up. By default, this would simply start up the unit in Automatic mode. You can also select dedicated modes like Floor Only, which to me, in an above ground pool, and with its rounded shape, makes more sense.I watched it a while go about its thing, trying to see if indeed it learns from its movement and creates a pattern but did not look like it to me. But what do I know? All I know, is the unit ran for about 2 hours and cleaned about 80% of the floor which is not bad at all. Will get it to do a 2nd pass later this week.I've tried the automated mode as well, but unit kept trying to go up the wall, which to me was no use. I set it to Floor Only instead and seems to do the job better for my type of pool. I may try the Classic Mode to see if it works better for me sometime later.Honestly quite happy with this unit. It delivers what it says it would and looks like a professional product that should last a while.

This cordless robotic pool cleaner is made well and is definitely a work horse while cleaning my In-ground pool. After a lot of reading reviews and manuals I was able to get the pool cleaner in my pool and get it up and running. I was impressed with the way it collected debris and sand and so far for me I have been very impressed with the way it’s doing its job. With any pool cleaner you will have a few hiccups but this is by far the best one I’ve owned. I have been very happy with it and I would definitely recommend purchasing

This pool vacuum robot has been great for keeping my pool clean without much work from me. Once I set it up, it pretty much handles everything on its own. I like that it has different modes for cleaning the floor, walls, or both, and it moves around in a way that doesn’t miss spots. The motor seems powerful, and the big suction nozzle and roller brushes have done a good job picking up dirt and leaves. The battery lasts a long time too, and when it’s low, the robot parks itself at the edge, making it easy to pull out of the pool. Another nice thing is that it comes with a 2-year warranty, and the support team is ready to help anytime. Overall, I think this has been a good way to keep the pool clean without having to do much myself.

First, let me just say I wanted to give this 5 stars on build quality alone... this thing is a TANK, and it's very well built and seems heavy duty. It climbs walls with ease and has amazing power for cleaning. It's also very easy to empty the collection bin and I have to say for the basic features, it's a home run. However, for the price, I think it's missing a few things that are preventing my 5 star review. First, the battery life on a charge is kind of low I feel. It's unable to make a full pass on my pool on a full charge. So far each time I've used it, when the battery runs out it just lays on the bottom and for some reason picks the most difficult to get to spot in the pool. That's probably just because of our layout, but it does frustrate me nevertheless. I know there's a feature to have it go to a specific direction on low battery, but I haven't been able to make it work yet (probably something I didn't do correctly though).I was surprised mostly by the fact that there is no app to control it, or at least have it warn you when the battery is low so you can direct it to the surface or something. I am sure it would add to the cost, but it would be worth it in my opinion. If this were two hundred dollars less expensive, I would absolutely give it five stars, but I just think for the listed price, it's missing a few essential features, making its value for the price a bit low in my opinion.

Note that this model was designed for inground pools, but I've read other reviewers that they have procured it for their aboveground pool, which technically, will work if you program the robot to just do the floor. This robot is well built and is powerful. It weighs about 20 lbs and on a full charge, it will operate for about 3 hours and it will take between 2 to 3 hours to fully recharge. It has 4 cleaning modes (smart, floor only, wall only, auto). So far, I have been using it with just 2 modes. One day I will use the floor only and on some days I will use the walls only. This way it has a chance to recharge in between jobs. The basket is pretty big and easy to clean. It will require more frequent emptying of the basket if you have lots of leaves, upon starting your pool in the spring. Overall, I'm really happy with this unit, and it's guaranteed for 2 years!

This thing is incredible. It actually walks up the walls of the pool, which kind of blew me away. As far as I can tell, it does this with a huge amount of suction. We have some sand that we add to the turf around the pool and it inevitably ends up in the water. This sucks it up and makes it look like it was never even there. The pool is spotless except for a few leaves floating on top (hey, there's only so much a robot can do, right?)It comes with a hook that you can put on your pool skimmer to easily fetch it for a recharge. It looks rad and the kids have really liked watching it work trying to figure out if it's learning with every cycle. I think it is but I can't say for sure, but it tends to zero in on the places that tend to have more to clean although that could be anecdotal.

Let's set expectations. If youa re reading reviews on these things and you think that you are going to toss this into your pool and have sparkling perfection--I am sorry, but you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Better pool robots (and this is certainly in that class) are getting pretty good at cleaning pools but they are hardly perfect. They cannot 'see' dirt. They work by running a pattern which is designed to cover every inch of the surface you wish to clean--whether that surface is the bottom, the walls, the waterline or all three. Note also that I would NEVER use any robot after just opening the pool for the season. You need to hand vac and lift out any significant mess that accumulated while it was snowing before using these machines for daily cleaning. They aren't designed to open your pool for you.The better the ability of the robot to cover every surface, the better the likelihood that it will eventually run into the leaves, the sand, the loose band aid or whatever shmootz that you can plainly see from the surface but which the robot is driving blithely past. If the robot loses its place in the pool, or is just blindly running a cleaning pattern, as many do, it is going to skip something messy that you can see from the surface. That doesn't mean it's a bad product, it is just how these robots work nowadays. If it gets 95% of the stuff on the bottom and your robot filter is full of stuff you didn't even know was there, well, it's doing its job correctly. With improvements in technology, perhaps these robots wil be able to run perfect patterns and always cover every inch of the pool. Perhaps sensor technology will allow the robot of the future to map the dirt in your pool and just clean what's needed.Maybe. BUt that is NOT the way these things work for now. For now, get used to the idea that no matter which unit you buy, you are sometimes going to have to vac, skim or brush just like you always have.Which brings me to the second point--suction. If the robot runs over the dirt but is unable to lift it into the filter canister, it doesn't matter how good the coverage is.After owning and using more than a dozen different robots, I can honestly say that every single one is a compromise and none will be able to clean as thoroughly as you can with a suction line and a pool vacuum head on the end of your skimmer pole. That's the truth. In the end, very good robots (like the Pondee X5) make cleaning the pool easier. Having no trailing cord and the ability to store the dirt onboard until you lift it out of the pool is an advantage. Having only 4 simple choices (floor, walls etc) to make before tossing this in will encourage you to use it more often. Having a long lasting battery and quick charging abilities will make getting ready for the next clean easier. More importantly, the seller (who I have no experience with) is offering a 2 year warranty--which means that they have some confidence iin the way they are building these. It does feel pretty solid out of the box.If you have an irregular shaped pool or unusual swim features like a deep swim lane or dive tank built in, the Pondee's tank style treads will give you some hope of the machine not getting flummoxed by the geography. It's early in the season and I haven't had many opportunities to test this unit's capabilities but I think it has very strong suction. It seems able to pick up whatever it rolls over, even a bit of gravel. It parks itself at the edge for retrieval (if you want) and is pretty consistently on target so far. You retrieve this with a sort of boat hook (included) which you attach to your skimmer pole and use to fish the device out. Once clear of the water, this robot is heavy--much heavier than suction powered devices and heavier than devices which are connected by a trailing power cord and don't need a battery. The app is of limited use and doesn't really do anything that you can't do right from the robot itself. The reason is simply that wifi and bluetooth do not work underwater. The plusses for the unit are good build quality and significant battery life and suction power. The technology on this is up to date and you can get most, if not all, of the benefits pool robots can deliver. even ones costing much more than this. The negs are that I am not familiar with the seller in this arena (not necessarily important but something to consider) and I have not been able to find replacement parts yet online for this machine (like a filter basket, treads, battery etc) which are potentially the end of the useful life of the machine if they wear out.
