Our water had a terrible sulfur smell. We saw this on Amazon and researched it. This item stated a difference in the water smell in 24 hours and there was a slight difference. 1 week and there is no smell in the water. Removing the old anode rod was the difficult part. A 1/2” drive breaker bar, 1 1/16” deep socket, 4’ piece of black pipe and a ratchet strap. This item saved our 4 year old water heater that we were considering replacing. I would recommend this anode rod to anyone that has terrible smelling water.

This is the first time i have tried the electronic scale device. So far it is working fine. I have a water softner on my system and the standard anode rod did not last very long probably due to the salt content. I am hoping this will last as long as they say it will.

We kept having an issue of getting black water when we returned from a vacation and hadn't been using the faucets. We would turn them on for the first time in a few days and it would come out black. After researching, we realized there is an anode rod in the water heater, we removed it to find it was severely corroded. We replaced it with the same style (not this one). It corroded quickly too. I found this one and we tried it. We just returned from a 12 day vacation and no black water!!! Such a relief! We have very hard water. We installed a softening system which is working, but still continued to have the problem until we switched to this anode rod. Highly recommend.

There are no instructions with this product. You must turn of water heater turn off water to water heater drain pressure. Before removing old anode. The one in my tank was stuck due to buildup of minerals. ( Only one year old). So I flushed tank. Wiring plugs on to New anode and grounds to screw on tank.

Even though I have city water, it had a slight sulphuric smell emanating from the hot water side. I am very maintenance minded and have changed my 8 yr. old hot water tank passive anode 1.5 yrs. ago. After researching a solution to hot water smells, I ran across this active anode. In short, I trusted the solution description and it did NOT disappoint. It was easy to install and because my tank has a powered damper, overhead 110vac was available to plug into. The smell disappeared within 24 hrs. I am very relieved and satisfied with this purchase. A+++++ ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Installed this about a month ago and NO MORE rotten egg smell (hydrogen sulfide in well water so a AIO filter is installed). I previously installed a "zinc/aluminum" anode instead of the standard kind but that didn't do anything for the odor. I think as these metal anode rods corrode they create the rotten egg smell. I was at first a bit concerned since it came in a unmarked box and wrapper and zero instructions but I've observed many reviews and was knowledgeable with the install. Happy so far with this powered anode rod.

I bought the titanium anode rod expecting efficient odor removal and scale prevention for my 40-gallon tank, but the results have been underwhelming. Despite its claims, the rod hasn’t significantly reduced sulfur odors, and scale buildup continues as usual. It also doesn’t appear to have any impact on the overall efficiency or longevity of my tank. For a supposed 24-hour solution, this product doesn’t meet basic performance standards.
