The weight is laughably inaccurate if you find paying a dollar for each little baby conch funny. Can is at least half water. Oh, did I forget to mention that the conch will cramp your jaw while you chew and chew and chew it enough to swallow without choking yourself? Tough? You bet. I've bought many Roland products and have been a repeat customer, but the conch was a total disappointment. They owe me eleven dollars plus damage to my jaw not to mention that my superb lemon pasta dish was ruined.

Tastes like clams. But bigger and better.

I follow the recipe from Bo's Fish Wagon in Key West and use this brand of conch meat and they taste just like the restaurant we eat them at. Very good product.

I highly recommend. Great flavor! Lots of product in a can, weight is not in water is in the actual product! Very pretty and appealing to the eye. Cooked to perfection. I will buy again!

I haven't even opened the can as yet, but when I receive it I couldn't believe how small the can was, and the price come on, what a rip-off. As for buying it again, I don't know because I haven't tried it yet to make an honest opinion about it. And it's taste.

12/28/2023 Update Review- I had this sit in the fridge after further slicing the conch & now the texture became more clamlike and very pleasant - I have a feeling after cooking this stuff needs to sit and settle for awhile. It was quite good so review is now 4 stars.I have caught, cleaned & eaten alot of seafood. That includes shellfish. I purchased 4 cans of this & finally used one in a fish soup or chowder. I cut each conch in half across the body -- and that may be what is so different here -- La Monica brand features large strips or pieces. But Roland had small bubble like pieces that seemed to be mini shellfish whole rather than larger ones. I did a standard tomato based chowder and even though they were cut in half it was like eating blown up bubbles which was not very natural. And I used the liquid in the can instead of draining -- that had flavor but the pieces seemed lacking of that. Now I have had this chowder and fritters in the Keys -- this was nothing like that. And my expertise at making soups is really good. My next test will be a ceviche or fritter but at least for the ceviche I will be slicing thin and lengthwise. But so far I would not recommend this product.

I used to be in the seafood business. When it comes to canned seafood like clams, oysters, conch/ whelk/ scungilli, etc. one of the most important factors for determining value is drain-weight. In other words, how much meat you have left after draining the juice. Roland Conch has a very high drain weight. The flavor is on point too. My only nudge is that it's a little more chewy than the LaMonica brand Scungilli. But what the heck; it's CONCH, right? All Roland products are always a good value.
