We have developed a unique form of color and packaging for our products. To provide greater efficiency, quality, value and convenience for the decorator we created Soft Gel Paste, a pourable, highly concentrated gel, breaking with the industry standard of a hard paste in a jar. We purposefully chose a bottle that looked different from anything else on the market—a squeezable bottle with a flip-top cap. This allows color to be dispensed in individual drops for clean and easy to repeat control from one application to the next.
These highly concentrated soft gel food colors are formulated with the necessary die concentration levels needed to achieve the most vibrant and brilliant shades. Soft Gel Paste colors have a viscosity that offers the convenience of a pour-able gel, making it easier to measure amounts or duplicate shades. Only a small amount is needed to tint icing, fondant, marzipan, gum paste, or dough without affecting the consistency, and it will not break down buttercream or non-dairy icings like liquid colors.

I had to use two bottles, since they are so small, to color a 5 quart KitchenAid mixing bowl to get the right color for me. It was lovely.

Tis shade of purple was the exact color I was looking for. It did not leave a bitter taste to my cake or frosting. Very pleased

The color is beautiful and there is no aftertaste. I use it to color my Royal Icing for decorating sugar cookies and also to watercolor paint on my Royal Icing. These little bottles last a long time and the colors are true.

I use AmeriColor gel paste all the time in my home bakery business, so I'm always excited to try new colors. What a surprise this was, as it has a sparkly finish which was not mentioned in any of the descriptions that I read. Same with the new Blush and Champagne colors. I wonder why AmeriColor has not publicized this? I have used the Lilac in piped royal icing and as a paint on hand painted cookies. I'm both cases it maintained the sparkle. My only negative experience with it was when I attempted to dilute it with vodka for the hand painted cookies. As soon as the vodka touched the gel paste, it seized up with an almost plastic texture. Wish the manufacturer included more information on these products.
