If you ever anticipate someone getting stuck where a snatch block would be a useful aid, get this instead. These 'Snatch Rings' weigh less, cost less, and take up less space than a snatch block. While snatch rings are intended for use with synthetic cable, steel cable could be used . However, once used with steel cable, it should be committed for use ONLY with steel cable.Some people assume that these have more rolling friction, but tests have shown the difference between snatch blocks and snatch rings is less than 2%. So, when using a soft shackle as the mounting method, the difference in rolling friction is negligible.

This is a great product. I inspected my first one for aluminum burrs! inside I found two lines of burrs (paint was missing as well) and spots where the paint was missing on the opposite side as well but there were not any burrs. I decided that I did not want to mess with fixing and polishing the burrs down and remove the paint as well so I tried out Amazon's return policy for the first time. The second one was shipped and delivered the next day. The second one had similar lines of paint missing but without the burrs.The product works in my light testing. I chose to return the first as the burrs would tear up my soft shackles over time. this appears to be a manufacturing process as the two had similar paint missing in the same spots in a straight line. One had burrs while the other did not. Good luck with your future self recovery gear.

Haven’t used it yet for a recovery, but seems sturdy and well-made. A bit smaller than I was expecting, but soft shackles fit through it easily.

This recovery ring seems like it'll stand up to a recovery operation just fine. While this particular one hasn't been tested by myself, I can just go by its looks and feel really. It is smaller than I've seen (hence it'll be used for lighter weight operations) on my ATV as opposed to an SUV as advertised. They should keep it to that ATV/UTV and delete the SUV out of the advertisement, in my opinion.
