Our first diaper pail was the hand crank Twist’r of the same brand. We needed another pail and decided that this would be an upgrade… We were wrong. This strikes me as a product that shipped without any user testing and it shows. The first issue is that the flaps on top are not connected to the foot pedal. Why on earth wouldn’t you integrate the foot pedal that’s already in the product? But at least they designed the flaps to be way too strong so that they’d require shoving your hand through so that your arm could be caught like a lobster trap. The next issue is that the tension provided to twist the bags closed is far too low, so if you have a moderately full bag it will not close. This is not the case with the hand crank version which will reliably seal as long as the diapers are below the straps. There’s literally no point in this product if the bags don’t seal.Skip this one and buy the manual one.

So I've tried lots of the diaper systems in the past, for both kids and pets, and my favorite will continue to be the Diaper Genie Pail since it literally sealed each diaper separately... however, it's awfully expensive to keep up with and I couldn't conscientiously keep it with how wasteful it is to landfills. I've made compromises over time, and with my newest child, I knew I would have to have one of the systems that twists to keep the stink inside (there are several to choose from) and, after some research, decided on the Twist'R.There is a small learning curve with the Twist'R, but if you've used a Diaper Genie, you'll get the hang of it pretty quick. I'm really happy I made the switch though. Our nursery is 90% smell-free. There is the occasional breakthrough smell because there is no magic in life, or in kids diapers, let alone the bags or pails that hold the kid's gold, lol.🙂

This works better than any of the other pails we’ve tried (ubbi, diaper genie) - it actually keeps the scent in and doesn’t release and nightmare cloud of horror when you open it. It is a little hard to get the diaper to drop down, but just hold your foot on the pedal and it eventually drops. I don’t love that you have to push the diaper through the top part but it’s way better than having it smell terrible! Would recommend.

WOW. Just wow. I had heard great things about the Twistr, after I had received an Ubbi, so when my Ubbi started smelling, I looked to buy a Twistr. I saw the My Twistr for sale and figured I’d get it so I could match it to my nursery. When it arrived, I couldn’t believe how small the box was, and was a little worried it would be too small to hold many diapers, but not only was it easy to set up, it actually holds more diapers than my Ubbi. I got the hang of inserting and removing the bag pretty quickly and love, love, love it. Not only does it complement my nursery with the cute woodland creature print fabric I cut out using the template that came with the pail, but I haven’t smelled a diaper since I started using it. Truly! My Ubbi smelled like dirty diapers every time I opened the top lid to drop a diaper in, but with My Twist’R, it’s amazing how it is completely odorless! My husband said we should have used this one all along and he rarely comments about any of our baby gear, so that’s saying something! I’m just thrilled with my purchase and had to write a review, which is something I never really take the time to do.

We have two in diapers and my wife has bought so many diaper pails that claim to work because they are made of steel, or they eliminate smell by adding another smell, which only made an even worse lavendery poo odor, or there is some claimed magic in a trap door that drops the poop in the pail only to reward you with a blast of marinated poo smell from deep within. All of the pails we have used have left a lasting cloud over the nursery and our family room so I started taking the diapers to the outside trash each time. Since it is now cold outside, I don’t want to walk outside to the trash multiple times a day, and no one else does either. My wife and the sitter have stopped using the designer diaper pails we “had to have” and, instead, leave me a pile of dirty diapers just outside the house, 15 feet short of the trash can. Lucky me. Moist warm diapers in our now smelly garage. Tired of it all, I was either going to make one myself or find one that doesn’t smell and works like a diaper pail should. That’s when I found this Twistr. I saw this and thought it made sense how it works, so I bought my own diaper pail to add to my wife’s smelly collection of pails. Thankfully, it works. Now I don’t have to go MacGyver a solution at Home Depot, and am instead buying another Twistr for the nursery now too. The bags took a little learning curve, but everyone figured it out and we’re all breathing better for it. The bags twist so tightly that I haven’t smelled a diaper since using it. While playing around with it, I found a cool setting for newborns that makes a looser twist so the lighter diapers fall down into the bag just as easily as a heavier toddler diaper would, but our kids are each capable of weighty loads (and there will be no more newborns in our family-we have our fill), so we don’t have to use it, but it is a useful feature nonetheless. Since we’re both working from home and have the kids home too, we go through a lot of diapers. We’re about 3 weeks in using this pail and are averaging about 2 bags a week with some seriously hefty diapers, sizes 4 and 5. I am very relieved to have found a pail that actually does what it says and has saved me from the daily trek to the trash cans.

It works very well at sealing in the odor, my wife didn’t even know I had started using it despite there being several soiled diapers in it… but for the life of me I cannot remember how to change the bag without watching a YouTube video of it. So while it works very well… it is complicated because I have another bag to change and don’t feel like watching the YouTube video again.
