I read the reviews and begged my wife not to get this thing. I told her it would still smell and that it would be no better than the trash can we were using.I. WAS.WRONG. No more smell!! Thank the Lord!! I don't mind getting the off-brand refills for the bag, they work just as well and still no smell. This thing does its job and it does it well. It fills up fast, but who cares, the smell is gone!!!

This diaper genie is not at all practical. First of all you need scissors to cut the bag when it's full and you waist quite a bit bag. The other issue is the inner lid does not open very wide so you often have to push the diaper trough the hole while your bad odors escape from the diaper genie. All in all it is a very bad design, it just does not make sense to me.

I know the diaper pail issue is very divisive, but this product is awesome!!! Completely eliminates the smell of baby diapers and easily fits one week of newborn size diapers (10 a day!). We already had litter genies for our cats and those work amazingly well so we were pretty optimistic about this product. Love the foot pedal, which makes it easy to toss in soiled diapers even if you're holding something (like a baby). We're thinking of transitioning to cloth diapers and I think this would easily be adapted to function for that purpose as well. Overall definitely very pleased with this item!

This is a competent, functional diaper pail. It's a little awkward to use, but it keeps the stink in.The giant pincher does a pretty good job holding the bag shut so that the stink stays contained. It works one-handed mostly, unless the diaper gets caught going through the pincher and you need to free it.Its capacity is deceptively small, and the front-tilt bin makes it kind of a pain to change the bag. You have to hold the bin (to keep it from falling back) while you cut and tie the bag. It's hard to imagine why someone thought that was better than just having a door like every other diaper pail.So it works, it keeps the odor in, but it's a little bit of a pain to use. I tested this against the little , the , and the . It's better than the Essentials pail and the Dekor Classic (both of which failed to keep the stink in). The Munchkin Step Pail is better looking, feels more solid, holds more diapers, and is easier to use.

Do not waste your money. This is a horrible redesign. I don't even feel right about giving this away for free, this is how much I hate this diaper pail. I loved my Diaper Genie Elite, I used it for 4 years before it broke. (Bring it back Playtex!!) It worked very well, held in the stink, and held a ton of diapers. This holds about a third of the diapers as the Elite did, and if that was the only drawback it would be fine. But no, that is the least of your problems. First of all, after the first diaper or two, you have to push down every single diaper, or open up the pail and pull them down one at a time through the bottom. I end up filling up the top and then pulling them back out the top and throwing them away in another bag. Gross! It also does not hold the stink in like the Elite did, it doesn't seal shut. The lid is super flimsy and falls off constantly. I end up just using it as a stand to set a grocery bag on top to put my diapers into and then throw that away. I am getting rid of this and buying the Diaper Champ, it will save me money since it can use regular kitchen trash bags. If you are vindictive, you could buy this for your worst enemy as a shower gift, but hopefully no one would be that cruel to a new mother.

I was very hesitant to purchase this genie after reading some critical reviews and being generally happy with our other diaper genie elite. However I love this one! It closes great and keeps the stink out of the room! Very easy foot pedal (and won't pinch like the other model has done at times. The color is lovely too, nice tall height, and it's just so easy to use. It uses the same genie bag refills as before so we don't have to order two seperate refills for our genies. I stick both my infant and my two year olds diapers in it and they night easily through the opening I had no issue with compartments not closing (that was mentioned as well in a critical review). It contains smell very well however we do dump our toddlers poop in the potty as we always have done. But my infants poop goes in to it and no smell. I highly recommend this diaper genie. If our other genie breaks I wouldn't hesitate to replace it with this one!

This Diaper Genie was easy to assemble and is very sleek and subtle. It's a perfect addition to any nursery. My toddler loves to play with the foot pedal (which opens the lid) and that can be a little bothersome, since, once full, it allows for some odor to escape more often than wanted. When closed, it keeps odor in well and holds about 50 newborn diapers. The plastic is a little bit flimsy, but is holding up well in spite of it. Overall, great product!

Works great I have twins and go through a lot of diapers and haven't had any smell my only issue is the refills are a little pricey
