About this item

  • Triple-Layer Defense: Engineered with UPF50+ certified silver-coated fabric, windshield sun shade reflects 95% of UV rays while its ice-crystal core absorbs heat twice as fast as generic shades. The inner blackout layer blocks thermal transfer, proven through 500+ hours of extreme heat testing (122°F) to prevent leather cracks and dashboard fading
  • Real Results: 0.8mm triple-layer fabric weighs 150g more than "nano-coated" imitations, trapping heat 40% more effectively. Independent tests show 2x faster cooling than lightweight alternatives
  • Heavy-Duty Construction: Built to endure desert heatwaves, the dual fiberglass frame withstands 70mph winds, while RipStop polyester fabric resists tears even after 5,000+ folds (ASTM tested)
  • Universal Fit for 99% Vehicles: Auto-adjusting smart springs and tension clips ensure seamless compatibility with sedans, SUVs, and trucks. It adapts to curved windshields without scratching surfaces
  • Umbrella-Simple Setup: Deploy full coverage as easily as opening an umbrella. The one-pull collapse mechanism shrinks it to a compact 12-inch size, stored neatly in the included holster under car seats or in door pockets. Ideal for school runs, road trips

The umbrella-style of this windshield shade is better than traditional accordion style shades in my opinion. It opens and closes easier, and stores much smaller. This particular shade is made from truly blackout material; no light gets through whatsoever. The shade perfectly fits my small SUV’s windshield, and it is held in place easily by the car’s sun visors. The outside-facing side of the shade is a reflective material and it does a very good job keeping the car cool when parked in the sun.The reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the umbrella mechanism is a bit flimsy. As long as I keep an eye on how I put this up in the windshield, I’m confident it will last. However something like this often ends up on the floor, and the mechanism would break if someone stepped on it.Overall this is a solid item. It makes a world of difference in the summer. I recommend this product

Look, nothing is going to keep all the heat out of your car on a hot, sunny day, right? Especially if the sun shines through side windows and other openings. This shade does a decent job of at least preventing your car from feeling like it spent the day in the fiery depths of hell. I'm fortunate in that my car cools off really quickly when I turn the A/C on, so I've actually struggled to be able to tell how much good this shade was doing. But this afternoon when I got home from work, I knew that I was leaving again about 20 minutes later. I put the shade up just to see how it would do during that short period. When I got back in the care half an hour later (oops!), it felt like climbing into the car first thing on a hot summer morning: definitely warm still, but tolerably so, and vaguely cool on the inside. It was DEFINITELY cooler than it would have been had I not put it up.Functionality: a very brief adjustment period. You've got to learn when to release the umbrella pusher thingy, or the spidery arms won't lock into place. You also have to remember to find the slit for the rearview mirror before you open it up, because you won't be able to rotate it once you do! When collapsing the shade, it takes a little practice to roll/fold it up tightly enough to slide back into its pouch, and even then I have to twist it in some days.Downsides: The arms seem pretty flimsy. If you sneeze too hard in their general direction, you might break one, or at least invert it. Make sure when collapsing and rolling it up, and especially when sliding it back into its pouch, that you don't have any arms (or parts of arms) outside of the pack. If they catch on something, they probably will snap. That said, the shade collapses easily and quickly.I've never had a sun shade before, so I can't say how it compares to others I've used. If I needed to purchase one for another vehicle, I'd be fine if this was the only option, but if not, I'd probably want to try others as well.

I got this as it looked interesting and easier to put up and take down than the twisting sunshades. It was easier, but the issue is that the sunshade itself is too small for my Honda Pilot, and it is too large for the windshield of my Honda HRV. I will have to see if it will fit my children's vehicles when they come home. The umbrella sunshade opens easily and closes easily. The handle can rotate and bend near the top, but it was stiff, which I guess is a good thing. The umbrella has been opened and closed about 30 times and is still working, but the supports closest to the shad (farthest from the handle) are very thin and I feel that they will bend out of shape very easily.Closing up the umbrella shade and putting it in the included sleeve takes a little more adjusting than needed. It doesn't close up small enough to fit into the sleeve easily, and i keep feeling like I have to tighten the strap more and get concerned I will bend the supports. I little larger sleeve would be helpful. It is a nice shade, but I don't think it fits 99% of vehicles, and feels a little too flimsy for what I need.

I wanted a sun shade that I didn't have to be out of the car to put in my work vehicle. The ones I have had in the past, I would have to get out and slide them in standing outside of the car to get them to fit under the review mirror and not knock everything off of the dash. I got this one because it is like and umbrella that you just open it to expand it and then when you want to close it you just close it like you would an umbrella. It arrived in a carrying bag, and very compact, which is a huge plus for me. That is one of the features that I wanted as well to not take up alot of space when it is not in use. When you open it you pull down a pole that is attached to the sun shade. It extends to open and allow you to put it under the rear view mirror before it is fully opened. Once you have it in place you just pull the pole till it clicks and it locks it in place. It does have arms that are metal like an actual umbrella, but they are easily bendable so you can adjust it to your windshield. I have a phone holder on my windshield in the corner of it and I am still able to put the sun shade up and have it fit around my phone holder. When I take it down I just pull it down like I am closing an umbrella and it folds into a small compact piece. It has a velcro strap that you wrap all the way around it to keep it closed and secure. I am able to store it in my cube in the back and it takes up just a small amount of space. It does keep it much cooler in the car with this sun shade. Before I had this sun shade stuff would melt in my car when it got hot. I had an entire ChapStick melt in the container with no shade, I got this shade and I replaced the ChapStick and it is still in one piece in the container. The only thing I worry about is bending the metal on a consistent basis that I will rip the material, but as of now this is a great sun shade for me and my needs.
