I mounted this to my portable ice shack and used it as a "dead stick." It doesn't take up room or get in the way like a rod.

I have quite the collection of st Croix ice rods and reels, and let me tell you this thing outfished every rod on nipissing. Having the freespool with super sensitive flag, makes this set up deadly. You can let non aggressive fish run with the bait until you know they've taking the hook. Then bam, pull em up rebait and send it back down. Super simple to use, set up and take down. Ordering 3 more for next winter.

I loved this tip up on last weekends fishing trip to Lake of the Woods. Clipped it on our minnow bucket, added a set of bells to the flag while sleeping and it worked amazing. I am actually ordering a couple more for next year.

It seems that it is of decent quality. However, the picture of what you are “actually” buying is super misleading. It appears that one would be purchasing a clampdown tip up, including a bait bucket or at the very least, a bucket of some kind. Nowhere in the (non existent) description does it mention that it does not include what is pictured in the picture. A picture they say, is worth a thousand words. In this case, a picture is worth $17. I will update this review after trying it and possibly update the stars for quality but for now, it is what it is...a clampdown tip up (worth $10 locally) and no bucket. Misleading
