Excellent, works very well on Festool angle grinder, having used on the Arboutech Carving tool, it’s not quite using its full potential, still a worthwhile purchase.

For the money, this thing works great. I used it to skin and “straighten” 30 white oak fence posts and it worked flawlessly. One guy was complaining about it *only* lasting 7 years… come on man, you ended up paying $18/year for it. That’s a bargain. Mine still has a ton of life left - and even if it wouldn’t cut another shaving, I can’t complain. Hell it was only $129! I’ve found more loose change than that in my couch! You definitely need a face shield. I would also recommend gloves and some sort of upper coveralls. I use my welding jacket and gloves.

Like most of the Arbor angle grinder tools: Not for delicate work, not for narrow jobs or impatient learners. It is a hefty grinder and throws some power when used. The Arbor grinder with the powerful accessories is a "two hander". Requires a strong vice work table scheme. Practice, practice, practice! Instructions for use and changing or installing the tool add-ons, that I have seen, are very small and very, very minimal. Also, the spacer rings and gadgets for add-ons are misleading in that if tried to be used as in diagram, the planer for example, simply doesn't fit. May be it is an American marketing problem. Also, as with most tools, sawdust/shaving collection systems don't work very well. Best way to learn about this line is on-line videos of which there are many. Last on the negative side, is price. They are unique and that is reflected in the price from Australia (I believe).Up side, this planer/carver attachment and most everything I have seen or bought can be VERY useful and they are very popular for good reasons. Watch the (usually supported) videos on-line!!!

I use this tool for Carving chair seats. It's fast and removes alot of wood. I use a Angle Grinder with a anti kick back feature. I would not use this tool without it. It is very easy if you don't have experience to get a kick back that will eat your hands and/or arms. Angle Grinder with anti kick back will save you a trip to the emergency room. Works best if you run your Grinder a top speed around 13000 rpms. Always tilt your Grinder at about a 20 to 30 degree angle and work from right to left (never every left to right). If you use this tool with care you will love the results. Not sure why Arbortech Angle Grinder doesn't have a anti kick back on them so buy a brand that does.

This review is tailored to those looking to use this mostly for peeling logs, either for log cabins, fences or other purposes where all you intend to do is remove bark. I didn’t see any reviews speaking to this specific task and figured someone out there may find it useful as most reviews seem to be for wood carvers, which I make no claim to be.Compared to the big name in chain saw log peeling attachments this is at least comparable in speed. I used the former to peel black spruce logs for a 12x10 saddle notched sauna I built a few years ago and it finally broke (due to my own stupidity and no fault of the tool) recently. So, with a new project underway and winter fast approaching in Alaska I decided to give this a try.To note, most of the logs I’m peeling are from dead standing spruce. If they were green, I’d just use a draw knife as it’s honestly a joy to peel green spruce. If you have green logs don’t read too much into this, as I have no idea how this tool performs in that regard.Black spruce, when dry, is like chiseling superglue. Enter power tools. This does a good job of CHEWING through anything you throw at it. The finish is definitely more rough than what the chainsaw attachment produced. But I would say it’s a bit easier on the back, less tiring and possibly faster. It’s also less expensive. One major word of warning, wear a face shield. I used safety glasses and a chainsaw helmet/mesh face shield and was still getting pelted with errant chips on my face. I’ll be investing in a polycarbonate shield that offers more coverage before I fire this up again. Also, more than any other angle grinder attachment, this tool wants to hurt you. It bites in unexpectedly on knots and if you don’t have a firm grip...well, just hold on tight. Note that I took care to setup my grinder as recommended in the instructions. Please remember to keep a firm grip with both hands on the tool until the disc comes to a complete stop. Having used cutoff wheels, wire brushes and flap discs I’ve never been that overly concerned about kick back. With this tool you need to be. And, all that’s needed is a light touch.Pros:No chainsawA bit quieterNo exhaust fumesLess chance to cut off your legSignificantly less heavy/less fatiguePossibly fasterCons:Non-replaceable cutting edgeElectricity requiredMore saw dustHigher risk of of eye injuryRougher finish—I have a bunch of logs I’ll be peeling for a 5 acre fence and will try to update this after I’m done. Hoping it holds up to some serious usage.

This tool MUST be met on it's own terms!!!!In other words, RESPECT This tool or say "goodbye" to your project...I did not like this tool at first. But after some practice I learned that you MUST rest the guard on your work surface (IN JUST THE RIGHT WAY)I Have the King Arthur "chain wheels" (both sizes) and they are good (they leave deep marks)This arbor tech (WITH PRACTICE), make much smoother cuts.It is "controllable"....(when used carefully)...I started using this on a piece of YEW...(YEW is hard and not a good "practice material"...the turbo plane will GRAB like the Dickens if you use it wrong!!!!!!!!"Knots" are definitely dangerous when confronted...Start slowly then work your way to a faster pace...I found that I was better off having both feet planted on the ground.1) always keep your weight centered...2) keep a fairly wide stance3) take little bites at first4) I bought the turbo plane it works well....I use 24 grit sanding discs also...if you are on a budget I would stick with the 24 or 40 grit sanding discsI Advice starting on pine then work up to harder woods

Hatte absolut keinen Vergleich.
