This is my 3rd solar camera charger and this one feels a bit flimsy compared to the other 2. Time will tell if it holds up.The mount is a bit huge but it gets the job done I suppose. So far, it’s charming the camera but ring doesn’t recognize it and it seems to sit at about 85% charged on sunny days.I’m not sure I’d but this solar panel again but it’s about what aid expect for the price.

This does a great job keeping my camera battery charged. It even seems to work on days when the sun is hiding behind some clouds. I found that the key to solar panel efficiency is to make sure that it faces the path of the Sun during as much of the day as possible. Installation was fairly easy, and except for a quick wipe with a damp cloth to remove dust or grime every couple of months, maintenance is virtually zero.

I needed another solar panel for a Ring Stickup camera and decided to give the Mytions 5w panel a try. The panel itself seems solidly made and has a generous amount of cable which allows for more flexible mounting of the panel. The mount included is pretty lightweight and, while it does the job, it doesn’t inspire confidence. Additionally theres an odd cutout in the mounting arm which I can only guess is intended for running the cable through the arm for through-wall applications. For outdoor mounting I can see this being a water trap.It took a couple of tries for my camera to recognize the panel and the ring app does not recognize it as a ring accessory (I have a genuine Ring panel on another camera). Also, where the Ring-branded panel has a watertight plug for the barrel connection, the Mytions’ connector just sort of slides in. I will probably seal around the connector with some silicone to prevent water intrusion. The panel does charge the battery, so no problem there. However, the lightweight mount and lack of provision for a water-tight connection prevents me from recommending this panel.Update: this panel is not charging the camera at all. I have two other solar panels on the same model of camera and they both charge the battery - even the one that gets less sun. I would not spend money on this solar panel!

I can’t believe I waited so long to get one of these solar panels. I was always skeptical that I would get enough sunlight to charge my Ring Cam battery living in the PNW.These little solar panels are easily installed in 10 minutes. The simplicity of the whole thing is great. 3 small screws to secure the solar panel to the house or fence and then screw the panel to the holder. Attach the cable to your camera and done. The solar panel is very efficient, overnight my Ring Cam battery went UP 6% from the street light hitting the solar panel. Today we have full sun and as of 12 noon the batteries which started the day around 60% are fully charged! No more fighting the roof spiders to swap out batteries! No more lugging the ladder out and risking my neck! The solar panel is a great value and makes life so much easier. Stop thinking about it, just get it!

Great size, keeps my outdoor camera charged - however it was missing a piece, so I had to adapt it with a zip tie.

This solar panel is fairly flimsy. I have not experienced a good track record with mini outdoor solar panels used to top off camera devices. They tend to not last longer than one or two years exposed to the elements. Because of questionable build quality I cannot say I have high hopes for this one.

The problem with wireless cameras is always the battery life. We want our cameras running at all times since you never know when something could happen. Without an extra battery on hand, there’s always a gap where the camera isn’t on. This solar panel solves that issue. It keeps the camera charged without draining the battery, ensuring it’s always ready. I love this addition to the house—having a solar panel charge our camera battery is an absolute game changer!
