Ring terminals need to be manufactured of sufficiently thick metal to allow for a strong crimp and a good ‘cold weld’ between the wire and the terminal’s metal. This can be seen when crimping a terminal with the correct size wire and a good quality crimper. These terminals have a very thin ring, which limits the surface area for the conductivity of higher currents that would be used with 14, 12, and 10 AWG wires. The crimps that result from this thin terminal metal are poorly formed and may result in the separation of the wire from the crimp over time. The crimp area is relatively short, minimizing the contact area between the circular metal and the wire, which also results in a weak crimp with insufficient contact area in the cold weld. If you compare these ring terminals with UL and CSA recognized ones, you can see clear differences that result in a much better electrical connection.

These Tanbupu crimp terminals are well made, uniform, and easy to use. They crimp tightly with standard crimping pliers. The kit contains sizes most often used. It will come in very handy. ~ The Duffian
