The cable is very durable and is easy to work with. It does have a tough jacket so that is the only difficult thing with this cable. It may take a bit extra time to strip off the jacket. With that toughness then it becomes less of a chance that staples will puncture it, or damage from objects hitting or scraping on it.I am going to use this outside and even bury some of it for some low voltage lighting.

As advertised, this is Copper Clad Aluminum, not Solid Copper. But, for some applications, that is all you need.I was pleasantly surprised at how solid and heavy this roll was. The jacket is nice and sturdy, and offers plenty of protection, whatever your low-voltage application may be.That is the important part: low voltage. LED's and speakers are fine to power with this, and it is far more than thick enough for those purposes. As long as you aren't trying to run 110 (or more) through this cabling, it should be great for whatever application you have.

This is a really nice wire, although it’s aluminum with a copper coating. I used it to extend some short sections of our landscape wiring. However, the product details don’t mention if it’s UV resistant or certified for direct burial.The casing around the two 12AWG wires is thick and sturdy, but it’s a bit challenging to work with since it’s not as flexible as other landscape wires I’ve used. It’s also difficult to strip since the outer jacket doesn’t have a center seam that makes it easy to separate the two sides. You risk cutting the inner wire jackets while trying to remove the outer black jacket.I found that this wire works well with landscape wire connectors that pierce the two sides of the wire from the outside. This type of connector allows you to attach a fixture without altering the wire at all. However, it’s much more difficult to use connectors that require two separate wires since you must then find a way to get the outer jacket off and expose the inner wires without damaging them.At this time, it’s performing well, and it’s quite a good value at the current price of $46.79. I used pure copper for the longer runs since that should provide less resistance than aluminum. However, I used this wire for shorter runs extending from the copper main lines.With its sturdy build, I expect this wire to last a long time outdoors. I’ve installed it in exposed as well as buried locations and will report back if I encounter any issues.

Good quality product. Reasonably priced, pre-tariff of course. I actually needed 14 gauge, but will keep this for future products. Outer sheathing seems pretty flexible and durable.
