With advice of a plumber I trust, I decided to install a replacement for the gas valve regulator (Honeywell, #WV8840B1042) on my old Kenmore water heater. I ordered a replacement valve from this seller and received a package 5 days before it was promised but it had a different product number than the one I ordered. I wrote to the seller and asked if the one I received would work for me. The response came in less than an hour but not with the news I wanted to hear. At first they said I must have mistyped the number of the new one (WV8840B1110) because they didn't sell the one with that number. I sent back a photo to prove that indeed the number was correct and that I bought it from them. After just a few minutes they wrote back and confirmed that they did sell that one to me and yes it should work for my replacement. Good news, with a lot of help from YouTube, it did fit and my 12 year old heater is running like brand new. High marks for their quick delivery and instant communication but dinged on not knowing what they sold to me at first. By the way, the new one is not a Honeywell, it is made by a company called Resideo. No matter, the Resideo get lots of high marks as you can see in the comments by others. One other tip, I did not have a short length of threaded pipe to use as leverage to remove/install the gas valves. I used a short, un-threaded pipe instead. I ground the end so it would fit fully in the pipe sockets on the valves then wrapped that end with teflon tape so as not to damage the socket threads. It worked perfectly to remove the old one, apply new tape, and install the new one.

I am quite pleased with the purchase, I ordered this to replace the original control valve on our water heater which is about 8 years old, and replaced the spark igniter as well since both were giving me issues at the time, fortunately being a licensed made it easier to do the install of both the control valve and the spare igniter, I haven't had any issues since also had to turn the temp down on the new valve wtr is definitely hotter with the new valve.

Perfect fit an works just like old Honeywell one or even better started right up. Just took a lot longer on shipping than I thought due to weather but all an all I give this a 8 out of 10.
