Seems to work flawlessly and has been delivered in a timely manner but beware that it is NOT a Rheem thermostat but a Protech one that you will receive.

This switch failed and fused "shut", this allowed the lower element in my heater to run until the upper over temp limit tripped off the heater. I'll try this again and see if it was a fluke. Perhaps there was corrosion or oxidation on the wiring that increased current draw? Either-way, my heater would've dumped water on over temp had the upper over temp not tripped. Scary stuff.

It is not a Rheem thermostat, it is a Protech. On the package it says it will fit an AO Smith heater but it wouldn't work on ours because of the extra ears at the bottom.

Replaced broken factory brand unit with this. Wired it up and physically installed essentially the same as the original . Work great ! Good quality ..and the lowest price around .

I ordered it for back up in case of failure. The temp only goes to like 140-150° so set it accordingly. You can tell by the number on the unit face. Would definitely order again especially on Amazon. Easy as pie
