I ordered this backpack because I am on the hunt for the perfect travel backpack. While this backpack isn't perfect, it is the best one that I have come across in a long time. First of all, it is structured but not too heavy. The back stays firm enough when filled so it is not sagging in the straps when worn. It is roomier than it appears so capable of holding quite a bit, as long as you don't need something too padded. The way it completely opens up makes it great for traveling and for finding those things that always seem to slip into the bottom of the bag. One thing I'm not too fond of is the side pockets, I wish they were a little less large and more sructured with compartments, maybe. The molle in the front is always very handy for strapping and emergencies, and it size makes it perfect for underseat airplae stowage. I'll be using this backpack on my trips this summer!

I ordered the gray camo version of this backpack, but I got green. That was my first issue. The bigger issue was the smell. As soon as we opened the bag, the chemical odor was overwhelming. Our eyes were stinging, and we had to leave it outside to air out for 24 hours before bringing it back in.Once it aired out, I checked the layout. There are two pockets on each side for water bottles or small gear. The front section has two additional zip pockets, and inside the main compartment, there are two zippered pouches built in. That layout does make it easier to organize, and the size is fine for a daypack.The straps on the front seem sturdy enough for basic gear, but I would not load this down for heavy outdoor use. I am not sure how long the plastic buckles will hold.Overall, I think this is a good bag. I am only giving this three stars because it is not usable when it arrives. You do need to let this air out completely. Then after that, give this entire bag a good cleaning to remove the chemicals. I am not happy that it takes so much work just to get the bag ready for use.

This is an excellent backpack. It's a great value of what you get for what you pay. However, it's not suited for every type of use. For hiking and camping, it's wonderful for regular travel, not so much.It has two decent sized zippered pockets on front, each with dual zippers. There's a zippered pocket on each side for a water bottle or anything else similar. The main compartment opens on three sides with two zippers, making it easy to pack or see what's inside. There are three flat zippered pockets inside.This would be a great bag when using packing cubes to store what you're carrying. You could organize the cubes as you need them to keep them accessible. You could also use the front two pockets for items needed to be readily available.Unfortunately there are a few issues that keep this from being a decent backpack for travel. First, there's no pass through strap on the back. I like to be able to put my backpack on my carryon, but without that strap that's not very easy. Second, there really isn't any secure place for placing a tablet or laptop. The seller said the main compartment would hold a large laptop. I took that to mean there was a padded compartment, but there isn't any place for securing any device. That's also a concern. The final concern is that none of the pockets have smaller pockets or zippers inside them. It's always nice to have one pocket designed for pens, pencils, notebook, wallet, phone, and other important items. This one doesn't have that.Bottom line, this is a good hiking backpack and excellent value, but it's not as versatile as advertised.

This tactical backpack gives you a huge amount of volume to work with while also offering an abundance of inner pockets for organization.Starting from the front panel, there are 2 outer zippered pockets. Neither of them have inner pockets, however, the top front pocket unzips laterally across the bag while the lower pocket can open like an upside down “U” allowing you to stow some larger items that you want to quickly access.Moving to the sides of the pack, you’ll find a zippered pockets on each side which open to reveal taller narrow pockets which could house a tall water bottle, compact umbrella, bug spray or any other assortment of items you would want to keep within reach without needing to remove the bag from your back.In the main pocket you’ll find the largest zippered pockets which also follows that same upside down “U” shape but it opens about 90% the total length of the pack. This massive zipper gives you the ability to see the entire contents of the bag, rather than rummaging through it from the top with everything dropped into it. Inside the main pocket are three inner zippered mesh pockets - one is on the panel that would be folding out when unzipped & the other two which are fixed against the back panel of this main pocket. The back panel of this bag is breathable & cushioned well, with a waist strap for extra support during long treks.If I had to find things to complain about, I would probably have to point out that there are no straps on the sides or bottom to cinch the bag down, in case you’ve filled it to the point of looking like a turtle shell on your back. The other point I would make against the bag is the inability to remove the waist strap. This may seem like an odd thing to point out but if I were to use this as an EDC bag or a “get home bag” (I currently use a 26L bag to store items like first aid, cables & chargers, multitools & basic toiletries along with other misc items) I would want to get these straps out of the way so they don’t snag on things while the bag floats around my car - but you won’t hear me complain at this price.All this in mind, I believe this is a terrific backpack for a very affordable price.
