These add Ethernet to laptops without a port. These only support 1GB Ethernet — fine for most Macs and PCs. 50CM cable is fine.

The adapter has a metal body which gives it better isolation from interference than those with plastic bodies and it has a longer cable than other adapters I have used. It plugged right into my network and USB hub for my Dell XPS 15 laptop and gives excellent speed on my gigabit internet giving consistent speeds of over 500 which is great as I have over 100 devices on my networks. I would say the functionality is excellent and it is a good value for the price as it works as well as more expensive devices I have. It is really a transparent device as I just plugged it in and forgot about it.

This is indeed a USB-C to 1Gbps RJ-45 ethernet adapter. The connection speed works at 10Mbps, 100Mbps and 1000Mbps. It gets a bit warm, but this is expected. Works very well with all Linux, macOS, Windows. There are no drivers needed, it is truly 'Plug-and-Play'. The USB-C to USB-A 3.0 adapter is a very nice inclusion.Excellent little adapter.

This little guy packs a big Internet connectivity punch and worked flawlessly with every device I tested it in--PC's of all shapes and sizes, Android tablets, and Android phones. Who cares about Apples--they're for eating!!The Type A & C interchangeability is a big selling point for me since I refurbish computers and cherish quick & easy connectivity to older computers that don't sport a Type C port. Instant connection without the need to download any driver is worth far more than the price of this adapter. The driver it found automatically in Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11 is the Realtek USB GbE Family Controller. From my experience I doubt this driver would ever need to be loaded manually, but if so it should show up in the built-in Windows driver store so there's no "Catch 22" of needing a working Internet connection to download the driver to enable your Internet connection. That's my gold standard for a USB Ethernet adapter!This adapter boosts the Internet throughput of devices normally constrained to WIFI bandwidth to the speed of gigabit wired adapter, which is really quite amazing on phones and tablets. On all such devices I tested I saw a 2X to 3X increase in bandwidth when connected via a wired connection using this adapter. There was always instant recognition of the adapter. Woo hoo!In sum, I can highly recommend this product and am sure I will be purchasing more for my own purposes.

I tested this with two different ethernet cables and two different laptops and couldn't get the connection to work. The cables were known functional because they both worked with the ethernet connector on my laptop's docking station. I noticed that I could see some of the white wires near where the USB connector is attached to the cable, so perhaps a wire or two was disconnected within the housing. At any rate, this did not work at all

This is such a useful versatile cable and it really does put out the speeds that it says. I have 300 MB per second internet and I plugged in this device using the RJ45 to my laptop and my phone alternatively. After a bit the speed did go from 290 Mbps to 300. So I was getting Max speeds with both devices.It does indeed work with Windows 10 Linux and an Android phone as they state. I was able to test all of those and it worked fine.This device is really useful if you want to put a bunch of stuff very quickly onto your phone over ethernet. If you aren't going to have internet or spotty connection for a while, then you can put a ton of music, movies or whatever you want on it very quickly.I was impressed with how quickly and seamlessly everything worked.The rectangular body of the device is actually metal. That makes this a really good item to bring if you're a traveling, which is a pretty ideal scenario for it. I think it's pretty durable due to that. The cables are also nice and thick and the connections seem pretty durable. It is a dark teal color or at least the one that I received was. It looks nice and has a good finish. The connections are tight enough that you might have to work a bit to disconnect the USB-a from the USB-c part. However, it all seems pretty durable so no complaints!It is kind of interesting to have a hardwired connection to your phone! Came in very handy.
