Worthless! Had better results for cracking hooves with super glue or gorilla glue. Maybe it works in other environments, but not in AZ.

This is just what I needed to seal out the moisture and improve the condition of my horses hooves

I love the product, but I just bought another bottle of tuff stuff in our local store and it was $7 cheaper. I've noticed this a lot lately on Amazon. You may be a Prime member but you ARE paying shipping as they raise their prices.

Farrier recommended this product for my horse's hooves and it works well for us. Horse is shoe-less. His hooves get cracks in the rainy seasons here in Florida and using this stuff helps repel moisture and draws the hoof together. The price has gone up since the last bottle I bought and we have to recoat every other day or so during these wet-dry-wet times. But it works and helps keep his feet stronger.

I recently moved my horse from Southern Califonia to Austin, Texas. She is only shod in the front and I never had any issues with her back (unshod) feet in CA. The change in weather and terrain from CA to TX wreaked havoc on her feet. She already has thin hoof walls, and her back feet started chipping in large pieces, and her front feet started to crumble around the nails, so her shoes would slide to one side. my new farrier in TX recommended Keratax, which is not cheap, but I tried it. I put it on as instructed and after a month I saw no improvement, if anything her feet had gotten worse. I didn't want to put hind shoes on her but thought I may have to. Then I remembered Tuff Stuff, I'd used it about 25 years ago when I was a kid and remembered it worked well. So I tried it again and THIS STUFF WORKS! I put it on once a week and after about 2 weeks I noticed a difference in my mare's feet. The back feet are hardly chipping at all, and the front feet are no longer crumbling around the nails. I will continue using this product and recommend it to anyone looking for a product to strengthen hooves.

I was a little skeptical about this stuff, as it basically looks and smells like clear glue. However it did the job and cleared up the cracking in my mare's front hooves in less than a month. They weren't horrible, but the float valve at the stable kept malfunctioning creating a muddy area so her hooves kept going through cycles of wet and dry. One thing- make sure you give it enough time to dry before walking your horse through dirt or going into the arena. You can probably guess the results:) Seems to work for about a week...you can tell when the shininess wears off.

Super product, I’ve used all the since my 4-H days as a kid—our ferried always recommended it, and I’ve yet to find a better sealant. To me, it’s like the nourishing base coat nail polish used for humans. It seals, like a diamond-hard, shiny protective coating to keep moisture in the hoof and seal any large or tiny cracks that lead to rips/tears in the hoof wall. Speaking of wall, only use on the external hard horn of the hoof and stay an inch or two down from the hair line and do not use under the hoof, so as not to inadvertently prevent breathability of live tissues, such as coronet band, sole, frog, and bulbs. I like the way this product runs down the hoof from the cottonball-like fiber applicator, I just apply from left to right across the top of horn and it runs down to seal all the cracks effortlessly without me actually having to touch all surface area with applicator—which comes in handy if your horse has a hard time standing still and time (and safety) is of the essence! It also stays on a long time, a week or two, maybe three depending on the horse’s activity.

I have used this product for over thirty years especially on horses with light colored hooves which always seem to be more fragile. It works! Other hoof conditioners really do nothing as most honest farriers will tell you, but this product toughens the hoof and helps keep nail holes from expanding even towards the end of the shoeing cycle. I can highly recommend it and I'm thrilled Amazon sells it, since it is hard to find at our local tack shops. I'm glad I thought to search it on Amazon, since shipping from some of the equine catalogs greatly added to the price.
