I ordered the Tera 1100L barcode scanner to use in my office and help keep track of parts orders. The first thing I noticed was a thick manual was included. I thought "I wonder how many languages this manual has to make it this thick." But it's all (47 pages) in English. That's because this scanner is quite versatile, despite having just one button. The manual explains very nicely how to put the scanner into different modes, and everything else you need to know about it. I've made a note to definitely not lose the manual! But before I changed anything, I stuck the USB dongle into my computer and tried scanning a barcode with a cell highlighted in Excel. Boom! Barcode entered. It also inserted a line feed to move into the next cell down, ready for the next scan. Nice. The 2.4GHz wireless dongle was the default mode and working as an HID (human interface device) device, it's essentially the same role as a keyboard for input.Next I switched it into bluetooth HID mode. You scan a code in the manual to set the device into pairing mode. There are other codes to scan to adjust the beeping volume when a code is read (high/medium/low/off), output the battery level, set the sleep timer, set realtime scan mode verses storage modes, and lots of other things.I like that it's so versatile. Connect via USB dongle, USB cable, or bluetooth. It supports RS232-based COM port mode. It supports bluetooth HID, bluetooth SPP, bluetooth BLE. It tells you how to use it with iOS and Android. You can adjust the bluetooth HID transfer rate, bluetooth name, keyboard country layouts. It comes with a USB-A to USB-C cable that's labeled "5V1A ONLY NO PD fast charging".I really like this device. It's built well. It's easy to use. It's a good size in the hand. While there's a lot of options in a thick user manual, I think once you put it into the mode you want/need, you're probably all set.
