This was listed as a suggested thermostat replacement part - which upon visual inspection was wide blown, leaking wax - for my old fridge; I exchanged the two and the frige heating element works again, no more ice buildup within the freezer. Comparatively pricier than US Amazon, as pretty much everything else, but I needed it right away and it works.

Had an older 2nd refrigerator with the top freezer. Freezer wasn’t defrosting stopped the refrigerator part from getting cold. I was about to throw it away and decided to try and fix it. Found this part and it was very inexpensive so I figured it was worth a try, put it in and it works great now.

I was a bit concerned about the unknown wire size used here - and that lead me to buy a Southwire V-notch stripper to avoid fumbling around with a utility knife in the back of the freezer in future situations - but it appears similar to the factory wiring, which I'm sure was already derated in gauge to run at 0*F.I tested it in a cup of water before installing, and had no problems locating an appropriately sized crimp connector, which, if memory serves, was a Del City 221005 non-insulated 22-18, subsequently covered in heatshrink. It's been working fine for a few months. You are, of course, free to use whatever means of splicing wires you feel is appropriate in this environment, since none is included. I keep meaning to upgrade my heatshrink collection to adhesive-lined; there's plenty of extra wire left if it turns out to be important. The potting material of the original thermostat had popped out of the metal housing, which I assume demonstrates a chicken-and-egg problem with moisture intrusion due to its location below some coils.
