The walkie talkie was even easy to use by my 5 year old. He enjoys using it a lot. You just turn it on and make sure you are on the same channel. Then, push the big button in the front to talk. The range is also excellent as well. We brought it out to camping and was able to communicate even though we were about 1/2 miles apart. That is pretty impressive to me for the price. If you are hearing static like I did when I first tested it indoors then there is some frequency in the area and for me it was the fan. After we turn the fan off, it was nice and clear. The build quality is nice and looks rugged too. They even include some straps as well as a belt clip. The recharging stands are a plus.

I ordered these for use around the house when I'm working on something and need to stay in contact with my wife. For example, working up in the attic. No matter how loud I screamed it's unlikely that anyone down in the house would hear me.Of course, you can always use your cell phone for this purpose, but if you're in a jam it's a lot easier and quicker to grab this off of your belt and push a button. The SOS feature is a definite plus for getting someone's attention.Another reason to use these in situations like this is that you don't really want to use your cell phone in an attic or crawl space or similar, where it can get banged up or dropped into some inaccessible location. I'd much rather lose a relatively inexpensive walkie talkie down inside a wall cavity than a $1500 cell phone. I've lost screwdrivers and other tools that way.I think we'll find other uses for these as well, for example when my wife and I are both working outside and may want to communicate with each other. Also, when I'm cutting the grass. I have a riding mower and it's quite loud. I can't hear my cell phone ring, but I'd definitely hear the SOS tone if I turned the volume all the way up.One thing that's a bit disappointing is the VOX feature. Even at the highest sensitivity it doesn't start transmitting unless you're talking directly into the microphone. You can't set it down nearby and start talking, it won't activate. Even when you do speak directly into the microphone, there's a second or two delay before it starts transmitting so whatever you are saying gets cut off.The NOAA receiver function is interesting, but I could not get it to work. There are two NOAA transmitters in the area, the closest being about 30 miles away. I get nothing but static.Unlike many rechargeable products these days, these walkie talkies actually come with a power adapter which is nice. They also give you two extra screws for the belt clips. The screws are tiny and likely lost forever if you drop one. Use a magnetic screwdriver to attach the belt clips, if you have one.

These walkie talkies work well. The range is really good. We used them in a large building with three floors. I am impressed with the clarity of the sound. My kids learned to use them quickly since they had never seen or used a walkie talkie before.

These walkie talkies have been a great addition for our family, especially for staying connected around the house, during camping trips, and even in crowded amusement parks. The build quality feels solid and rugged, which gives me peace of mind when the kids are using them. They're waterproof and dustproof, which makes them ideal for outdoor adventures, and the signal range has been decent in both open spaces and more cluttered environments. The dual PTT feature is convenient, and I like the addition of the group call button, which helps when we're trying to gather everyone quickly. USB-C charging is a modern touch that fits right in with the rest of our gear so we can charge and run them directly from portable power banks.Bottom Line: These radios are perfect for keeping the whole family in touch without relying on cell service. Whether at home, camping, or navigating a busy theme park, they’ve proven to be reliable, tough, and easy to use—definitely a practical investment for family outings.

These are nice, rugged radios. They are study and look very nice. These radios are easy to hear through and the audio is loud enough. They have a good range. I'm hoping to test them in the mountains soon, as I believe the city has too many interferences for them to reach their full potential. Our range so far is around the mile mark. I believe they have a greater potential, though. They are easy to use. I like the different charging options, which makes keeping them charged convenient.

The image accurately represents the product.I have an earlier version of the Radioddity walkie talkie, and I was really impressed with its performance, which is why I decided to upgrade to this newer model. Right away, I noticed that this version feels much more durable—it has a solid, weighted design that gives it a rugged, heavy-duty feel. The range is impressive, reaching well beyond four miles, which is almost unheard of at this price point. Another great addition is the ability to scramble channels, which adds an extra layer of privacy and security during communication.Setting them up was incredibly easy—I didn’t have to struggle to understand the directions, and I was able to get them up and running quickly. Charging didn’t take long either, and their compact, pocket-size design makes them convenient to carry.I highly recommend this product.
