I had a new HVAC system installed last year and when I tested it a few weeks ago, the temperature coming out of the vents seemed warmer than I expected. I used this to find a leak in the evaporator coil. This led to contacting the manufacturer for a replacement. I doubt I'll use this too much but it really armed me with the info I needed to get my situation resolved. I also suspect a leak on the evaporator coil in my ancient Jeep Cherokee and it is a 12 hour mess to tear it down far enough to change that so I am going to see if I can use it to confirm that leak before I start. This is a handy piece of hardware to have around for me.
