  • Advanced Ultrasonic Detection Technology Professional-grade leak detector utilizing 38-42kHz ultrasonic waves to pinpoint microscopic leaks in air, gas & water systems. Compact design with small size and light weight ensures reliable performance in harsh environments. (Includes noise-isolation headset)
  • How doe it work? Water Leaking Detector Tool, Gas or air forced through a small orifice creates turbulence, and then generating ultrasonic sound. This sound is made when a vacuum or pressure vessel leaks, which can be detected using this instrument.
  • Multi-Industry Application Ideal for automotive diagnostics, HVAC maintenance, industrial pipeline inspection, and pressurized tank testing. Effectively detects vacuum leaks, valve failures, pipe cracks, and abnormal machinery sounds across multiple systems.
  • Smart Sensitivity Control Features simultaneous LED light indicators and adjustable audio alerts. Proximity sensing technology increases alarm frequency as you approach leak sources. Adjustable sensitivity allows customized detection ranging from near to far. Built-in frequency filter eliminates ambient noise interference for accurate readings in busy workshops.
  • Complete Leak Detection Kit Comes with: (1) Ultrasonic scanner unit, (2) Noise-canceling headphones, (3) Storage case, (4) 9V battery, (5) User manual.

Comes with everything you need. The headphones and tester are made well, I think it's a quality item. The directions are easy to follow and it was easy to use when I did a practice test. The results are easy to decipher. I think it's a good value and a helpful tool.

I got this leak detector to see if it could help me pinpoint leaks in the HVAC ducts in my basement. After an hour of trying, it unfortunately didn’t detect any, although I’m sure they exist. But this likely isn’t the fault of the unit. After the HVAC ducts, I tried it for other uses. First was a simple test of a leaky tire valve (“leaky” because I was pressing a screwdriver slightly against it), which it was able to detect immediately. Then on a front tractor tire which loses its air over about a week. I inflated the tire to several pounds over the standard pressure, and moved the probe all around the tire and the rim. And, it found at least one leak, at the bead of the tire against the rim. What I concluded from this is that the unit is designed to detect higher-pressure leaks. The HVAC ducts probably weren’t producing high enough pressure for this unit to detect any leaks, whereas the tires were. But given the lack of documentation / specifications on exactly what this unit is capable of, I wouldn’t recommend it for critical systems, such as industrial pressurized lines or the like. And at the price, I wouldn’t say it’s a terribly good value for casual use around the home. One feature I definitely didn’t like, as someone who values my hearing, was that the “audio alert” coming from the headphones was much too loud - and there’s no volume control. It was actually so uncomfortable that I had to wear the headphones half off my ears. (Another solution would be to wear ear plugs). So this is a bit of a tough one. If you have some casual uses that this could work for, I’d say go ahead. Otherwise, I’d look for alternatives.
