Firstly, unlike the product title, this is not an ultralight backpacking stove in any way, shape, or form. A backpacking stove is small, compact, does not take up much space, and weighs as little as possible. When you are hiking, you want to carry as little weight as possible. You are there to enjoy the wilderness, not lug around heavy gear.On the other hand, this would be a handy stove to have on hand in case the power goes off for an extended period. It would be great for car camping — you know, drive somewhere cool, pitch a tent, and put some music on. If you're not in a fancy campsite with built-in grills, this would be your go-to cooking tool. Also terrific for picnics.Butane is an easy fuel to find, so no worries on that front, and the stove itself provides a hot steady flame perfect for cooking. It all folds up into its own self-contained, durable package.Just don't use it for backpacking or anywhere weight is a major consideration.
