You just have sand off the paint around the mouth from the factory to make the sole flat. Took me less than 5 minutes. Works well for what I needed it for, taking off wood from a surface that was curved in small space

I just got this and tested it out, and i have to say i like it. It's well worth the low price. It's a simple basic design for a spokeshave and it does what it's supposed to do. There are no adjustable knobs to fiddle with or anything. You simply loosen the wing nut , adjust the iron to what you want, tighten the wing nut and get to working. It's inexpensive, but very functional.
