I've needed a new hose for quite some time, but usually I just look the other way because of price. This one isn't cheap, but also not too expensive, and from I've seen... the value is there. Pulling out the hose is easy and comes out with little resistance (and it's so long!). After you're done, the return process is just a simple jerk and it reels it all back in organized... It also comes with a mount for your house, really nice design.

This PINWHEEL retractable hose reel is great quality. The mounting bracket is nice and strong and allows the body to pivot back and forth. The retraction is nice and strong and easy to engage with just a slight pull. The hose is plenty long and pretty good quality as well. Overall very happy.

I ordered this because I needed a 100-foot-long hose to reach the front and back of my house. I only have one spout and also wanted something that was neat and easy to manage. I found this one and really like the look, materials, and features. Upon delivery, it was really heavy. Initially, I was worried I would have problems installing by myself, but after opening and looking at the instructions, I found it was relatively easy. It comes with a mount that is separate from the hose container. You simply install the mount, then add the hose container onto the mount. It swivels quite smoothly, and isn't heavy or hard to maneuver. The recoil is a little tricky though. I've struggle to get it to pull the hose back when its less than 50 feet, however as I continue to use it it becomes easier to manage. I wish the hose was of better quality. the hose itself seems like it'll wear before anything else. I'm hoping there is a way to open and change the hose out. Overall, I'm very happy with his hose set/kit. Other than a few minor quality issues, its sufficient for my needs.

The retractable feature on this hose reel definitely makes cleanup faster and keeps things neater compared to leaving the hose out in the sun. The casing feels durable, and the reel action is smooth overall. I also like that it comes with mounting hardware and a sprayer, so it’s more or less ready to go once it’s installed. The locking mechanism works fine to hold the hose at the length you want, and the ability to remove the whole unit for storage is a smart touch.The hose doesn’t always retract all the way without some effort, especially if there’s still water in the line or any slight kink. It can also feel a bit bulky and heavy on the wall, so make sure to mount it securely. I was also hoping for something more versatile. It’s functional and convenient, but not quite the all-purpose setup I was hoping for.

I’ve been using this retractable hose reel for a few weeks now, and it’s been a total game-changer for my yard work. The automatic retraction works smoothly every time, which makes cleanup effortless. I really appreciate the slow return feature—it doesn’t whip back like other models I’ve tried. I am very disappointed in this product. I purchased it because our last hose reel was also from Pinwheel and it worked great for almost 5 years. I installed the new one and immediately noticed that the hose was bound up so I pulled the hose out completely to the yellow line and let it retract and could not get it to wind all the way in consistently.

This is a review of the Pinwheel 5/8in 100FT Retractable Garden Hose Reel..At my house, the hose always ends up lying out in the yard and never gets put away. This causes premature failure due to sitting in the sun. The hose will heat up in the sun and swell. It usually doesn’t take long for this to happen. The Pinwheel retractable hose helps significantly with this, cleaning up the mess easily and automatically.The host itself is flexible and soft. Normally, I wouldn’t buy this type of hose, but since it retracts, the housing of the unit should help extend the hose's longevity and protect it from the elements. The unit will allow you to lock the hose so that it’s not constantly fighting you and trying to retract. The hose comes with a nozzle end, but if you have a different type, such as a wand or other favorite sprayer, it can be exchanged with any standard Garden Hose Thread (GHT) type. The unit is easy to mount and comes with the necessary hardware for installation. You will want to ensure that you go into something that can support it, such as a stud or concrete. They suggest a 4x4” post or similar. The whole unit can be removed with a pin, allowing for winter storage. I’ve found that it’s best to remove the hose that connects to the wall before you start reeling it in so that the water in the hose will drain out, lessening the weight, or if you need to remove the reel and store it.Overall, this is a nice reel and does what it claims. Only time will tell if it lasts as long as or longer than other hoses. I live in a high-altitude area that has a drier climate with intense summer heat and colder winters, so anything that goes outside tends to dry-rot and fade quicker. Ideally, the enclosure should protect the hose.
