The slightly padded cover has a soft smooth leathery touch (it's "PU leather" aka plastic) to it. It is comfortable to hold and carry. It is also well constructed and seems sturdy.A small disc of magnetic material embedded in the flap lends a weak hold to keep the covers closed. However, the hold is tenuous, especially if there is a full paper pad and pockets inside. A snap button would've been a more practical approach. Thanks to a strong back cover, notepads clipped on will enjoy a good backing to write on. The folder can accommodate a full 8.5" x 11" notepad (not included). Due to the weak flap mentioned, I don't recommend a notepad more than 100 sheets, especially if there are more content stuffed into the various pockets on the opposite inner side of the front cover.Speaking of the pockets, they are sufficient in holding a few loose papers or otherwise thin materials. They do not expand, so a few sheets of paper's equivalence of thickness is probably the maximum strain I'd put on the pockets. There is a nice transparent pocket useful for a business card or otherwise something to identify the owner of the padfolio. There is a loop of the PU leather material in the center, about 1" in height, to use as a pen holder. As the loop is not elastic, the pen will need to use its clip.In summary, this is a nice "padfolio" with a sturdy build. As long as I don't abuse it, it should last for a long time.

It does feel a bit like cheap plastic but for the price I think it’s a reasonable folder for carrying some basic items like a notepad, pen, business cards, etc. Despite this I do think it will hold up over time because I have a similar larger one that I’ve had for over a decade and it’s still in good shape although I don’t use it on a daily basis. This one is slim and fits better in my bag so it will now replace my previous one. Decent quality for the price.

I'll first note that the VINERFLY Padfolio Folder with Removable Clipboard, A4 Leather Padfolio does not have a removable clipboard, as advertised. It's a fixed clipboard. So, that small detail needs to be mentioned because that's what I had gotten the portfolio for.The portfolio does look nice, and is made with some stability to it. The clipboard side is strong enough to hold and write on but in a table would be more comfortable than balancing it on your lap or standing. There are pockets on the left side that are adequate to hold a couple of business cards, a couple of brouchers and a few pages. Keep in mind that it is synthetic and won't expand in time, but it does get the job done with an attractive look. The closure isn't strong. It actually easily pops open just by tapping on it when there's a 25 page notepad inside on the clipboard. That was a bid disappointing. The pen loop does work and seems secure. It is synthetic leather, and does have the underside exposed. I feel they could have doubled it up to hide the fleece underside, but that's a cosmetic thing. It's a basic portfolio that does have the look of leather, but does have minor flaws.

The quality is decent and I think this will be good for taking down notes, writing down proposals or even some basic presentation. The clipboard feature is nice and sturdy feeling. I was surprised it didn't include a notepad, but it isn't a total dealbreaker.
