These shackles are definitely heavy duty, as they are super heavy! You can tell they are made of solid metal. I tested them by pulling one of my vehicles around and they held up perfectly fine. I don't doubt these would work well in a real recovery situation. The bolt is threaded but only takes a few turns to completely remove it, which is nice, and I really like the isolator washers it came with. I got the hot pink version, which are very bright and in your face, and easy to see from a distance and at night. Overall a pretty good value for $25!
