My grandson is a big fan of ramen noodles so I ordered this set for him. He lives with me and he probably makes ramen three or four times a week. I've never had these noodles. Perfect set up for a taste test and we had a lot of fun.Since I read that these work with instant ramen noodles and he only uses the Maru-chen beef flavor (not instant), I asked him to pick up some instant noodles. He came back with spicy noodles about the size of a TV dinner. The noodles were too big so he had to break them in half to fit into the bowl. Apparently a big no-no for ramen. He followed the directions and it came out okay but he had to put it back in the microwave for another couple of minutes. Turned out, he just didn't like the flavor. I had washed the cooker, so it was the noodles themselves that were not good. I don't like spicy so I didn't taste.Next we tried the Maru-chen beef flavor and the noodles fit the bowl just fine. He cooked it in the microwave for three minutes, stirred it to mix in the flavor packet and I tasted it. Cooking for three minutes was just fine for me as well as the taste and texture. He needed it to cook four minutes, but that's just a matter of taste.Next we tried the instant noodles in a cup. No difference. Well, one difference. The noodles that were cooked in the cup in the microwave for three minutes boiled over. The Bele Rose set did not.So, he doesn't have to change from the noodles that he likes because it tastes the same. Boiling water on the stove takes about seven minutes plus cooking time. The Bel Rose set requires hot water and does not require boiling water so that's a time saver. The set fits together beautifully taking up very little space in the cabinet and he doesn't need to use an extra bowl. And it's dishwasher safe. I got the black set because that's what he likes. If I'd gotten it for myself, I would have ordered white. There are several colors and you are bound to find a color (or two) that you like.I haven't told him, but I'm going to use it to reheat rice and veggies.

Convenient way for perfect ramen noodles. Eco-friendly containers and utensils. Won't burn your fingers as you remove lid as there are a couple areas of extended edges.

This ramen bowl kit is really good when you need more complex ramen preps that involve straining noodles or microwaving for heat. I like to make my ramen the traditional way- in a pot on a stove. However if I needed a way to make ramen with no stove or pot, then this would be the kit to do it. Heat up the bowl of water for the noodles and the bowl of water for the broth, strain noodles with included strainer, cover with included bowl/cover. Then finally combine the water and noodles together with broth to enjoy your ramen.Overall the large bowl is sturdy and has a great depth and diameter design construction. The handle really helps to solidify its design as a ramen bowl. There is another silicone flexible cover to cover the larger bowl should you need it.Excellent for you favorite ramen eater.

This works just as you imagine it might, I literally just made some instant ramen noodles and they were delightful (I did add some hot Bachan's Hella hot Japanese BBQ sauce and they were indeed Hella hot… but also easy to clean up, so if I were making a quick mini-lunch at work or on the go, this is a good kit to have handy.Minor concerns:- The utensils appear to be an afterthought, in that there is no attached storage, I guess you carry them in the included plastic bag they shipped in (which is not a bad option, but…) or something similar, but there is no slot or hidden compartment or magnets, just have a spot for them in your travels.- The lid (the bowl in use) only stays on if you grab a rubber band or something similar (or you have the bowl sitting in the colander and outer holder, still multiple parts). The silicone trivet is fine, but also a separate item to “deal with.”I would not use this for a daily driver… if you're making noodles or something like this every day that would make use of this bowl setup, it would probably make sense to have something more substantial, maybe some metal utensils, a fork with longer tines, etc. However, if you have this off to the side in your work space (school/dorm/office/vehicle) and you lack a lot of extra space, it absolutely works, and while the fork is camping style (given that we're looking at ramen noodles as one of the staples this is used for) and so it has very short tines, the various parts together are light and compact, it could be used for a camping noodle snack obviously, or put to use through the day (in that list of example places, it is unlikely that you have a kitchen in your workspace, but you can tuck this away and not worry about the parts not being all attached, or have a little bag for the collection). So now and then, great! So even though I have pointed out some weaknesses, if you are aiming for a convenient, light-weight, easy-to-clean noodle prep device that fits in a small space and would be easy to carry along if needed, I think this is pretty good value and completely functional, but again not a daily driver for heavy use, maybe (your mileage may vary).

great product for everyday use. Bought it for my elderly parents for safety instead of glass bowls.
