This item is mislabeled. Not all tires are Tubeless ready even through they are described as such and it's hard to tell until you've received them.

I coach on a mountain bike team and ride a lot. Each time I'm ready to replace my tires I keep coming back to these. They are a great tire. I run these tubeless and ride in mostly rocky technical sections in loose over hard conditions.

This is the older model of Forekaster which can be a good or bad thing depending on what u want. This older version is less aggressive/lighter/prob faster rolling. It seated super easy but like one person said it is not 2.6 but prob 2.3-2.4 on my 29ID rim. You know it's the older one cause the part # is TB00033100Since it's the older tire you should get it at a pretty decent discount. I got it for under half price right here. If not here find it cheap somewhere else on the web.

This is an excellent rear tire, paired with a more aggressive front. I've tried DHF front with a Rekon rear and DHF front with a Dissector rear (great combo) I tried mixing a Dissector 3c maxx terra front with this Forecaster rear (WT exo.. 2.6) and it railed. Low rolling resistance with lots of grip. 23 psi on mullet set up. Excellet!

Replaced a Rekon 2.4 120tpi 3CT (860grams) with this new style Forekaster on the back of my Transition Spur. I lost minimal rolling speed, but gained grip, predictability, and confidence going up and down. Combines very well with the Dissector that is on the front. I weighed the tire prior to installation and it weighed 964 grams (very heavy for claiming XC/Trail, but I understand why). Slightly heavier than 945g advertised, but has sturdier construction than Rekon and larger taller knobs. The sturdier construction allows me to use less tire pressure. For my 195 weight I'm running 21psi in the Front Dissector, and 24 psi in the rear Forecaster. Tire climbs well which was addressed strategically with knobs angled for biting while still rolling fast (the aggressor has some similar knob orientations). Very fast rolling year round setup up for all seasons in Georgia. The Forecaster inspires confidence, hangs on, and leans into turns nicely where the Rekon lets go.Easily installed and seated tire on my Reynolds Black label carbon rear wheel measuring 28mm inner diameter. Inflated to 50psi and sat overnight. Reduced pressure to 24psi and went for a 10 mile ride. Measured with my trusty digital dial calipers afterwards at 24psi and got 2.35mm. So its a tiny bit narrow. Perfectly happy with this size and I'm glad its slightly under 2.4 as i'm running it in the rear... all the weight is going towards stability, if it actually measured 2.4 it would only be heavier.I DISLIKE the yellow logo so much I'm still considering finding other tires... or switching from Maxxis altogether. In fact, I ordered a set of Super Ground Wicked Wills and am excited to try those out also... and those should be lighter also...but may not be as good of year round all weather setup comparatively.Maxxis... What can you do so this tire weighs no more than 899 grams? 900 + is solidly trail territory.

So first of all, I didn't pay attention to the ETRTO differences between the 27.5" and 29" versions of this tire. In 29", the casing comes in at just under 2.3" width. I know from personal experience that the 27.5" version is a true 2.35 casing. I'm not sure why Maxxis did this, but this tire is still fantastic for aggressive XC riding. As a front tire, I paired it with a fast rolling 2.25 rear and I'm very pleased with what I've experienced after a week of riding in the Fall. The tire is gripping just as well as my 2.3" DHRII front tire, is rolling faster, and is ever so slightly lighter as well. I'm going to push this as far as I can into the fall as more and more leaves continue to accumulate on the ground. Wish I would've tried this tire sooner. Hopefully Maxxis offers their newer Forekaster in narrower casings somewhere in the future.

Ich habe von Maxxis 2.50 und 2.60 probiert. Beide sind nur 5,9 cm breit, also ein 2.40 Maß. Viel weniger als die Toleranz erlaubt.

Great tyre. Currently using Forekaster on rear with Minion DHF WT upfront. Great UK winter combo. (The grip offered by the Minion is just insane.)

I did not expect it to be that good...This tire replaced my Maxxis DHR II 27.5x2.4 on the rear Ibis 742 Wheel with 35mm internal width. On front I run Maxxis DHF 27.5x2.6. And it’s the best combo I’ve ridden on so far for Fall/Winter season of North CA (The Bay Area). I use this combo on my Yeti SB6c 160mm Full Suspension bike. And I ride this bike on all types of trails from XC to Enduro/DH. Rolling Resistance is just amazing comparing to DHR II 27x2.4 that I used to ride on before. Cornering is just as good, maybe even better due to an extra 0.2” width. Up the hill I can really feel that it’s much lighter. The only disadvantage comparing to the DHR II is the breaking on the straight line. If the breaking ability on DHR II was 10/10 then in my opinion Forkaster gets 7/10.So far I have about 600 miles on it and it’s still in a great shape.Would definitely by it again.
