Our neighbour had a broken handle in her toilet so we ordered this to test it out. She loves it and says it works great!

This flush lever for the American Standard commode works, but it does not work very smoothly. The original flush lever design worked very well, but was made out of the wrong material. It appeared to have been made of copper which corroded and became brittle and broke. They should have used brass.

Installed on a Celine toilet from the 80s. Tank lid didn’t fit properly after initial installation so I turned the square push button a quarter turn so it’s more of a diamond and the lid fit was sufficient.

This was the same as the last flush button I'd had that broke. I couldn't find one anywhere locally so had to wait till this one came from America. My plumber just needed to make the hole in the side plate a little larger.

We really like this this flush lever. Here's some thoughts:- It installed very easily. I should have paid attention to other reviews that stated you need to use an Allen wrench to remove the lever from the main body. I scratched my head for a few minutes before I figured it out. After that, it was simple. Remove the lever, screw the body onto the tank, then reattach the lever, and attach the flapper chain. That simple!- Some reviewers noted that the button and body were chrome covered plastic. This is not the case with the one that I received. Mine is all metal plated in chrome.- It isn't very difficult to push. It's simple enough for my 2 little kids to push no problem.Overall, we really like the handle. It works great and have no issues with installation and use.I hope I have helped your purchasing decision of this product. Installed this replacement part the moment it was delivered to my door using only a 3/32" allen wrench that was not supplied. (The part had a 2 day lead time with Amazon Prime and worth every penny) I tried one store for a replacement and they only had it online - ship to store in 7 days and all plastic like the one that broke and not even sure if it would fit. Since we only have one toilet in my one bedroom apartment repairs have to be preformed immediately. This part was used on a two piece Celite Toilet made in Brazil installed by the former owner of my unit. I prefer Kohler for this reason. This part fit in the 3/4" round hole in the side of the toilet tank but I want to purchase a rubber washer to tighten the push button properly, (I never will!). The part has a nice shiny chrome finish and the arm that accepts the chain is brass. Just a small part is plastic which seems to be made well. Installation took about 5 minutes but adding the time to drag out all my tools to find the allen wrench it took a little longer. Hooked up the flapper chain to the brass arm and I was good to go! (no pun intended) Now the best part. The last step was to install the toilet lid. The lid interfered with the brand new part and wouldn't seat level on the tank. After thinking about this overnight weather to return it and keep looking I decided to modify the lid. Dig out more tools and found the cordless grinder with the diamond blade. I marked the area to be notched with a felt marker, brought it to the balcony and hacked out the underside of this Brazilian Top. (Sorry neighbors for this 10 minute serenade of the grinder so early on a Sunday morning. Anyway in just two days my toilet is functioning as good as new and if you will excuse me I now have to pack all the tools back into the closet!

I just purchased and installed this lever. It is working just fine. My problem was that I had a strange toilet (made in Brazil) with a round hole for the flush lever (side mount). The first thing I noticed in looking for a replacement is that almost all the levers are made to work on toilets with a square hole. I looked and looked for a replacement without success. I finally realized that the old lever was probably a push bitton type for a reason. When I received this unit, I read the "instructions" (such as they are), which did little to tell me how to install. I figured out that the white nylon part came off with a allen wrench and that allowed the handle shaft to be placed through the hole in the tank. A lock nut holds it in place and then the nylon part goes back on and tightened with the allen wrench. Attach your chain and that's it.The other reviewers are correct when they say that it takes a nice firm hand to invoke the flush. You just can't get as much leverage on the lever inside the toilet with a push button as you could with a handle.Nervertheless, I finally solved my round hole problem and I am very happy to have something that works!

I looked everywhere for a push button replacement for my 2 tanks that are 20 years old after one of the levers broke. I found this one and decided to order 2 and replace the lever on both of my tanks. I'd read another review that mentioned needing to bend the rod to make it work so I figured I could do that as well if needed. Turns out I needed to bend the rod as well and it was very easy to do. I just loosened the rod and removed it and held the end in a pair of vice grip pliers while I bent it with my hand to match the form of the old rod from my tanks. My tanks are not rectangular but very curved when looking down on them from the top. This lever is designed to be used with a standard rectangular tank and that's why the rod needed to be bent for mine. The curve of the side of my tank makes the rod conflict with the flush mechanism but bending it towards the front of the tank put the rod in the correct position to hook the chain to it. The bend is actually more of a z shape with 2 bends. If your tank has curved walls you'll need to bend yours as well but just hold it over the old rod and match it and you'll be all set. This lever appears to be very well made and I think it will be much more durable than the ones that came on my tanks originally 20 years ago. Hopefully I'll get another 20+ years out of these! I think you'll be very happy with this product as it has worked great for me.
