This light has so much range in terms of beam angle and power, it really is the most well-rounded dive light to take on any dive. I paid little attention to it as I smashed it into my deco tank during gas checks, and the included handle fit comfortably snug. It’s one thing to like a piece of gear, but it’s another thing entirely to trust it. I both like and trust this dive light. I will be buying a second one just like it and plan on buying other light and motion products.

This is my second Sola light. I have attached them to a tray with arms and using it with a new GoPro Hero 4 camera for underwater video. Looking forward to great video.

I've dove with this light a number of times now in trying locations - including in caves and under the ice. It is easy to use underwater, reliable (so far) and offers a great field of cover on flood. This light would make a great primary for short dives and a good backup when set to less than full (though a 2 hour burn on full is pretty good)I use it with a Go Pro and given that camera's field of view, I'd recommend getting two of the Sola lights (my second is on order) to ensure no false vignetting. The only ding is that I wish the descriptions were a bit clearer and made a point of saying there's no mounting hardware supplied with this particular SKU.

While $700 for a dive light seems ridiculously expensive even by my standards. ( I am a professional and use this light every day) Once I saw this light in action underwater I was sold.PROS: No opening the light to charge it. You just plug the light in to the charger at the end of the dive. It is a sealed unit. The opening and closing of dive lights and making sure there was not a speck of sand or a hair on an o ring has cost me too many dive lights over the years. This takes the guess work out.The power settings are perfect. You can run at 600 lumens (still brighter than almost any dive light out there) and get amazing run time. At 1200 lumens on flood setting you can light up a whole wall in a cave (This was a video light before becoming a dive light)On spot setting you can point at the reef and show your buddy what you are pointing at.The display tells you how much power the battery holds so you can adjust the brightness if you are having a long dive and need to be sure that the light will burn for more than an hour. The display also tells you how charged up you are when you charge.Charge time is short (under 2 hours)Compact, fits in your hand or your pocket.CONS: Price is high. If you had to amortize the cost you may also consider this to be your back up flashlight in your car, camping, rafting, hiking. It is rugged and built for heavy duty.Use it and never look back.
