alpacas

What are Alpacas?

Alpacas are friendly animals that inhabit the Peruvian Andes above 3,500 meters, where their fiber enables them to thrive in rugged climate conditions.

They have been part to Peruvian history since early Pre-Incan civilizations, playing a significant role in textiles and transportation during the Inca Empire.

Alpacas are not only friendly and adorable animals but also convey a sense of peace and affection once you get to know them.

They also contribute to the sustainability of their environment by carefully tending to their land, minimizing soil disruption and requiring only modest amounts of water and pasture.

These animals come in nine pure colors, which can be blended to create an impressive palette of 22 natural yarn colors—the largest variety among natural fibers. Additionally, their fiber has low lanolin content, reducing the water required for processing.

These qualities are just a few reasons why we adore them.

This is a really nice comforter for summer. It's light enough to keep a blanket on the bed, but I don't seem to overheat as I do with other comforters. It's soft and I like the neutral color. It fits nicely on my king size bed. The alpaca fur seems more breathable than my down comforter. I like it a lot and I usually get very hot at night.

Absolutely lovely! So glad I was able to order this duvet and try it out. The label states “lovingly crafted” and that is evident.- natural materials- soft- maintains a comfortable temperature- no smell- alpaca wool does not absorb odor and does not harbor bacteria or fungus, so maintenance isn’t necessary with a proper cover

Very nice duvet. Construction and material are "top drawer". Good warmth without a lot of bulk. Stitching, cut and finish are all very nicely done. I'm used to "down" duvets, so this one seemed a little heavy at first but certainly isn't a problem. Very substantial product that I expect will last for many years to come.

I love this duvet! I picked it up because wanted to replace a synthetic blanket. This is much nicer and I'm very happy with it, but there are a couple of things to note. One is that it does smell like an alpaca when you get it. It's similar to a wool smell, but a bit different. After a couple of weeks of use, I can still lightly smell it if the weather is humid. Also, it is fairly loud when you rustle it around. This might be mitigated by putting it in a duvet cover, but I haven't done that yet. This doesn't bother me since I sleep alone, but I could see it being annoying to a couple.I love how warm this blanket is for relatively little bulk. I also appreciate the natural materials and am so glad I was finally able to ditch my old synthetic covers!

I am obsessed with this comforter. The materials are top notch quality. It’s cloud like fluffy. It’s super soft and very warm. The weight of it is very soothing and relaxing. There is a spot that appears discolored but it might be the alpaca fur color. Other than that I have absolutely no complaints. This comforter is definitely worth the price. I highly recommend it.

It’s so nice, made beautifully and perfect for freezing nights! The weight feels comforting without being heavy or stuffy. The texture of the cotton cover is soft and breathable, which I really appreciate. I’ve always struggled to stay warm in the winter, but this really makes a difference. It looks and feels luxurious on the bed. This is definitely something I look forward to using every night.

It came in a nice case so it can be stored in the summer. It has a nice weight to it. It a good balance between light and weighted so you feel that you are covered by something. It did have a slight “smoke” like smell when first opened. I let it air out a day and it was gone. Sleeping with it in my cold basement was comfortable. I wear a t-shirt to sleep it it was just right.Quality is good and well made, the stitching are great and material feels nice. It does “swoosh” a bit when you move it around when the material rubs against itself. I think putting it in a soft duvet cover should resolve the issue. Overall, great blanket.
