Super fast delivery, excellent quality product and shipping . A top notch seller and highly recommended. My last three gigs have been absolute heaven with playability and comfort. MORE THAN HAPPY!!! This bass replaces three different basses that I was playing during sets.

I became an Ibanez fan boy after purchasing this SR-500 and I knew I had to purchase the entire SR series. This bass lives up to the hype. The 3band on this bass is just the same the 4 string version with the added benefit of a pick-up switch for those of us who like to quickly switch between high and lower contours. The string spacing is not too far removed from that of the 4 string will possessing a slim neck the likes of which I haven’t seen on other basses. By far my favorite bass.

Love this bass. I've had my eye on it for a while and finally bought it. The elixir strings that come with this bass will be bright when you first start to play it. A combination of breaking in the strings (i.e. play for a while on them) and more importantly, adjusting the EQ on the bass to roll off some of the highs, will resolve the brightness on these strings. And if that doesn't do it, swap out the strings for something a little more mellow. The neck on this bass is fast. Really fast. Makes my Sterling SUB5 neck feel like it's a 2x4! The string spacing is a little tight, but I like that personally. Playing this bass is truly a pleasure. A professional-grade bass guitar at a mid-level price. Ibanez has a keeper in the SR505.

Been playing bass since 2007 and I've been through my fair share of crap basses. I don't normally post reviews, this bass is the exception. This bass beats everything you can get in the price range in every way and IMO could be sold for the price of a musicman sterling ray 35 and have it be just. Sonically versatile. You can hone in any sound you desire. Deep warm well rounded fat lows and crazy cristal clear highs. Slap heaven with this beast. Only bad thing about the bass, the thin coat of varnish on the mahogany body. If you slap and haven't cut your nails you will gouge the wood, eventually if you play hard and get into your music like I do. Not a big deal for me. Just make sure you trim before you play if need be and it won't be a problem. Besides finger style and nails don't mix lol. Bottom line: you can't get a bass that sounds this good, that has something other than your run of the mill tone woods (maple necks, alder ash maple and basswood body's )

This was worth the wait and buy! Great sound, lightweight and a true beauty!I am extremely impressed by this bass guitar. It's my first time playing a 5-string bass, but it has me questioning why I did not change from a 4-string a decade ago. Since I have back problems, I've been playing bass while sitting down on stage. But with the Ibanez SR505BM, I can stand, walk, jump and even run with this lightweight bass. Trust me, best purchase ever made on Amazon!!!

So, I have been playing bass for over 12 years. I have strictly been an Ibanez and Fender J Bass fan. Ibanez for drop tuning and metal, J Bass for everything else. I have used and abused my basses and never had a failure whatsoever. I have put Ibanez basses through hell with never even a hiccup from them. Tonight, for the first time playing this bass live, it broke in half. The neck broke off of the body. Never seen anything like it before. I don't think anything has actually broken ( it's 2 am, just got done unloading gear for the night, I'll do a full examination tomorrow), but the neck screws completely stripped out I think. This has got to be a manufacturing defect, or Ibanez has gone to absolute shit in the past few years with their basses, because I've owned about 7 different 4, 5, and 6 string basses with no issues at all. Hopefully Ibanez makes this right for me, or they have lost a devoted and loving customer of over a dozen years.

I already owned a 4 string bass from Ibanez, but I was looking for a 5 string one. The first thing that impressed me was the weight of the instrument, it's really light. Then after, the sound. You can drive it from a very fat soft sound to a really high sound. The EQ-B-IIIs equalizer does a perfect job for me, I can have a very good metallic sound for slapping and at the same time a powerful punchy bass for lower notes; when using effects, I can get a wide range of tones with the same effect thanks to this EQ system. Also to be noted is the switch it has for changing from a low to high sound; if you're playing a song that doesn't need slapping sound, you can move the switch to the low option and in the next song, with just moving the switch, you have a high frequency configuration more appropriate for that metallic notes.Another thing I really liked about this one was the balance knob for moving the sound to the neck or to to the bridge pickup. For me, it has been really useful when changing of amps or when I'm playing with different PAs.I really don't know too much about bass guitars and I only have played Ibanez instruments, but I'm happy with my two basses and they were not that expensive.
