This review based upon the claims of this Focsprod NACS to J1772 adapter product listing makes, specifically the 60A capacity and FCC/UL certifications. On the box it claims FCC and CE. The CE logo with the letters up against each other is just China Export, which is a voluntary label. The nearly identical CE with a space between the letters is a European conformity mark... but they don't use J1772 in Europe. This to me is a major red flag. The box also claims temperature and overcurrent protection, so I wanted to know if those are present. The quickest way to do that is to grab the FCCID off the device, punch it into the FCC's website and look the internal pictures. The EV charging circuit runs at 1 kHz, but there could be are harmonics that up above 9 kHz putting it into the FCC's jurisdiction and need for testing and approval. It looks nice, but there are no markings on the device. None. Zero. It doesn't even say what country it's made in. No amperage rating, no logos of certifications, absolutely positively nothing. Well that seals it for me, I flat out don't trust it, and I'm certainly not going to plug it into anything. The product listing claims 60 amps at 250 volts. A quick bit of math says that's 15000 watts, or the equivalent of like a dozen hairdryers. If you had to plug in a dozen hairdryers and then leave them running unattended for 6 hours then you'd probably want the thing you plugged them into to have presented at least some faint whisper of evidence for having undergone some kind of safety testing. That's what we're asking of this EV adapter. So I ripped the thing open and started cutting it apart, and I found precisely what I expected to find; zero safety features and under-spec wiring. The external pins looked like aluminum but they could have easily been tinned copper. A little bit of destructive testing shows me it's not copper at all. Those wires? I cut them apart to find what looks like aluminum. A quick peek at the ampacity charts and 8 AWG aluminum is NOT OK for 60A. Aluminum has more resistance than copper, so it heats up faster when you run power through it, and it expands and contracts more with temperature. 8 AWG might be ok if were copper, but not aluminum. Aluminum also has problems where the connections fail or becomes brittle with repeated heat cycles. But hey, copper is pricey. Yes, they even used aluminum on the DC signaling wire for the disconnect. Also, there is no thermistor present. The only electronics-like feature present is a microswitch on the DC signaling line so you don't get an arc-flash when you unplug it. I did in fact tear that apart too and it's just a connector and the microswitch, no temp sensor at all. There are also no fuses, no circuit breakers, nothing of the sort which the box seems to indicate otherwise. Also, one of the DC pins on the NACS side straight up wasn't even wired to anything. Not that I care at this point, but it's worth mentioning as I've seen on other adapters where that can cause it to not be compliant and fail to operate in certain situations. So let's look at the claims...FCC certification: not indicated on deviceUL Listing: not indicated on deviceCountry of origin: not indicated on device60 A rating: not indicated on device, wiring gauge and material not capable of ratingOn the box it also claims...CE conformity: I have strong doubtsTemperature control protection: not presentOvercurrent protection: not presentOver/undervoltage protection: not presentOn a positive note the NACS side of it makes a nice crunch when I cut into it with my knife which indicates it is glass-reinforced plastic. That is a good thing for durability. Unfortunately on the J1772 side I didn't hear the crunch and that's the side which is more likely to take a drop. It might be, but just less of a percentage glass. I should probably check it more carefully but I'm quite done with this product. The adapter does come in a nice little baggie though, I think I shall be keeping that.

I purchased this on May 21, 2025, and it works exactly as described. This adapter allows my non-Tesla EV to charge using Tesla Destination Chargers and Mobile Connectors (NACS to J1772). It supports up to 60A and 250V, which is great for faster charging. Please note: this adapter does not work with Tesla Superchargers, which require a different setup. But for home charging or hotel/restaurant Tesla wall connectors, it works perfectly.Highly recommended for anyone with a J1772 EV who wants access to more charging options!

We recently rented Non-Tesla and I thanked myself for purchasing this adapter. It is very easy to use, solid build, and charged our rental J1772 EV from Tesla chargers without issues. Handles high power (up to 60A) reliably. A must-have for expanding charging options!

This Lectron adapter was exactly what I needed! It works perfectly, allowing me to charge my J1772 using my existing Tesla charger without any issues. It clicked securely into place on both ends and started charging immediately. Best of all, it saved me the significant cost and hassle of buying a completely separate EV charger and paying for another installation. This adapter is the perfect, simple solution to integrate my new car into my existing home charging setup. This adapter came in handy for a friend that wanted to charge before heading home. product feels premium in hand, great construction. would buy again if needed.

I have only used it a couple of times to test out on a local Tesla Destination charger, but it has worked well both times on my Mustang Mach-e. It is not meant for fast charging, and I will likely hardly ever use it because of that, but it is a nice extra to keep in the car in case it is ever needed as a backup. Time will tell on longevity, but I am optimistic based on the build quality. the thing worked perfectly first time every time.

I have home charging for my Chevy EV but I am always hesitant to take this car on long drive due to poor network of non tesla chargers like EVgo and Chargepoint etcThis adapter is also easy to use and gives me charging speed of up to 50KwH which is pretty decent. This adapter is made up of high quality material and well worth the price. Pilat
