First of all I have to say, Costs farms is very reputable. If you receive something that’s less than satisfactory, they will make it right. I ordered this plant about a year ago and it’s absolute thriving! When I first received it, it was really soaked and a few of the stems were “mushy”. I dried it out and trimmed the plant and it has been growing beautifully ever since! It just took a little time and patience. I’ve seen this plant selling for up to $175 in this size and it’s “now” condition. So for me totally worth it!

I am actually very disappointed in this order. I have over 200 indoor plants, so I know my plants. This plant arrived with yellowing, crinkly leaves and was FULL of spider mites. I let that slide because I know jacklyns are spider mite magnets. I treated it several times and the mites are gone. But 8 months later the plant ajs still not grown even one single leaf. It is under grow lights with the rest of my alocasia that are all thriving. I believe the spider mites were too heavily infested and the plant cannot and will not ever recover. Don't waste your money on one of these!!!

I gave this Spathonema Aglaeonema plant from Costa Farms 3 stars because one of its stems had mushy root rot. I decided to investigate further and emptied the soil from the self-watering pot to examine all its roots. I discovered another mushy root and a single hairpin at the bottom of the pot. What's a hairpin doing in there?! I cleaned off all the roots, dipped them in a mycorrhizae solution, and repotted the plant in a see-through nursery pot with my own well-draining potting mix. I will keep an eye on the plant and hope it thrives from here on out. (No refunds or replacements offered.)

First of all, my raven ZZ arrived with dirt all over the leaves. Which I guess is understandable and can be ignored since I was a fool for buying live plants online that are shipped through UPS in the first place. One stalk arrived very yellow-looking and was a different color/texture than the rest of the plant.I felt the soil and it was still quite damp so I decided not to overwater it. A couple days later, I noticed the leaves start to become very dry, but the soil is still damp. I watered it one time after a week. The leaves started to drop and fall off completely within the next few days/week. Alarmed, I emailed Costa Farms with pictures of the plant I received, but received no response what-so-ever. And it is difficult to reach them by phone.I eventually took a look at the roots and discovered a strong case of root rot. This condition was definitely already present upon delivery since one of the stalks was yellowed and mushy-looking on day one. I also only watered it one time since delivery. I think the condition spread to the other roots. Sadly, I think this one will be extremely difficult or impossible to save. This is supposed to be one of the easiest plants to care for and it has not been that way.So after three weeks of waiting and no response, I decided to just request a refund through Amazon. It was granted. It pays to be a Prime member who buys from Amazon often. Saves a lot of headaches.

I've bought many Costa Farms plants over the years but this year is the 1st time I've bought on Amazon, NEVER AGAIN. I'm not delusional I don't expect a plant to come in excellent condition when shipped. I'm a plant whisperer so I don't mind nursing a traumatized green friend when they arrive, I haven't lost one until now. I've bought 3 plants through Amazon from Costa Farms the 1st 2 were palms and still MONTHS later have mealy bugs, I've had them in quarantine for about 6 months and because they're palms it's a freaking nightmare getting rid of them they literally get in the top of the trunks deep down and you have to repeat insecticide baths and chopping all their hair off over and over again. If you're lucky you may get rid of them on the 4th or 5th round providing the tree doesn't just give up and die. I'm invested in healing those two so I'm trying to get to the finish line. But THIS time I'm not chalking it up to a fluke, Costa Farms and this distributor have a SERIOUS problem and obviously they could care less. I ordered this polka dot begonia because our local nursery ran out and I don't know why it didn't dawn on me that I might have the same issue as the palms but honestly I've been dealing with trying to heal them for soooooo long that it's just become the norm.1st. Just on first blush when I opened the box I knew I was in trouble, the leaves were eaten through by bugs and necrosis. They were bent in half on every single leaf, which if you know this plant you also know that their leaves are the most important part. But I said hey I'll trim them up and get rid of the dead parts and see if I can get her to back to healthy. So a little water and into quarantine she went.2. I gave her a week to calm down and rehydrate but she's not looking any better in her stalks.3. With no improvement I knew we have a bigger problem (STILL not putting two and two together like an idiot) so I just took her to the kitchen sink to give her a little drink of a magic elixir I use for my medical grow. It requires her soil to be soaked all the way through though 1st.As I started watering her with a nice PH'd water with a hint of aloe concoction my newbie plants get before their 1st Dirty Girl Tea treatment allllll these fungus gnats just swarmed out if her soilAs I mentioned I have a medical grow but i also have thousands of dollars in other houseplants and can't jeopardize their health so in the trash this plant went. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!
