About this item

  • Asiatic jasmine is an evergreen, vine-like woody plant that is commonly used in landscapes due to its hardiness and drought tolerance. Native to Japan and Korea, Trachelospermum asiaticum is a low maintenance groundcover that is great for mass plantings and turfgrass alternatives. ItÕs an ideal plant for people who want an attractive garden without all the hard work. In shady areas, it also provides needed texture and variation.
  • Once established, Asiatic jasmine requires very little maintenance to keep it looking nice. Most people use this groundcover where turfgrass wonÕt grow, as Asiatic jasmine will tolerate many growing conditions and suppresses weed growth.
  • Asiatic jasmine requires little mowing, but edges should be trimmed occasionally. It should be used in low traffic areas, as it doesn't withstand foot traffic well. This plant is easier to control when neglected. Too much water, sun, or fertilizer can make it aggressive and unruly.
  • It is salt tolerant and can be grown in coastal areas. This versatile plant can even be grown in containers and hanging baskets.

Plants come very healthy, it has taken me over 1 week to start planting and they are still very strong.

I planted over 200 plants. Only a couple dozen look like they will survive and they look puny. I am disappointed since I have 2 large gardens I was hoping to fill with this groundcover. Sigh

I was disappointed in the consistency. Several of the plants were no more than a single root and a small stem with a single leaf. The roots were underdeveloped to the point that the soil would not stick to it.

I have bought these same plants from this seller multiple times. This time is my last for sure. The nearly dead plants arrived two days ago. I'm so disappointed as these are quite expensive - this photo shows 240 plants at a cost of over $500 and I'll be surprised if more than 25% survive.

The 60 asiatic jasmine plants we ordered from Florida Foliage were our 4th purchase from them. Previously everything was great. This one, not so good. We ordered 1 May, shipping label created on the 5th with expected delivery May 8. From there, things deteriorated. On the 8th, delivery was amended to the 13th. Checking with USPS tracking showed "no information" or "lost in transit". On the 13th delivery was further amended to "between 13th and 15th." On the 15th delivery was amended to 16th. The plants arrived on the 17th. By then we had requested a refund and it was in process when the plants finally arrived. Based upon the original arrival date of May 8, we had prepared the plant bed, however by the time the plants arrived, we had to do it all over again. Not happy doing double work. The plants appeared in good enough condition to plant and we have done so, with fingers crossed as we really don't know the viability of plants in transit, without light nor water for nearly 2 weeks. We have reversed the refund. During all of this, there was zero communication initiated by Florida Foliage. At about the 1 week point we asked about the viability of plants in transit for such a long time, and the answer did not assure us the plants would survive. More like "if you don't like it you can ask for a refund." Which in fact we did immediately. We don't have a solution to this. We had 3 good experiences with Florida Foliage, and one bad one. So they are batting 75%. Plants are good when they arrive on time, customer service is not helpful.

Excellent packaging for shipping. My husband saw the box on its side in the mail carrier's vehicle and was dreading what we would find. We were so relieved when we opened the box. The plug tray was glued to the bottom of the box with foam, and strips of cardboard were stapled across the tray in between the plants. Those babies weren't going anywhere! The plants looked great and the soil was very moist, so no dried out plants. The roots looked healthy and were all the way to the bottom except for maybe a couple. Keep in mind that these are small starter plugs, not potted plants like at the garden center, but these look better than most of those. I would definitely buy again from this seller.

Every plug in the tray looked good when it arrived. Due to a lot of rain everyday, I had to keep them in the tray for 2 weeks before I was able to plant. I just opened the box and pulled off the strips of cardboard that was keeping the soil secure so the plants had room to grow while they waited for planting. And they did grow in the box during that 2 week period. Planting those little plugs was easy. I just stuck a couple fingers in the ground, put the plug in and pressed the soil back together around it. I watered after they were all planted. They're been in the ground now for a week and all are still looking very healthy. These do seem to be very hardy and tolerate my clay/sand soil just fine.
