About this item

  • This evergreen vine has an abundance of small, white blooms throughout spring and summer. Lustrous, dark-green with white edge foliage grows on long, thin branches reaching 20 feet in length and 12-18 inches in depth as ground cover. Ideally used as a ground cover and vine on a trellis, tree, fence, porch or wall.
  • This evergreen needs a regular water schedule to ensure the growth of a mature root system. Be sure to keep the soil moist or blooming will cease. After the mature root system is established, watering is needed occasionally, except during a drought, watering is needed regularly. Prune annually to control size. Allow up to 5 feet if planning to use as a ground cover or allow less space for quicker coverage.
  • This beautiful and energetic evergreen vine creates a special scene all through the year. During April and May the plant goes two-tone as it flushes light green with new growth. The older growth is dark green with creamy white edges. Shortly thereafter the scene transforms again when the delicate 1 in white pinwheel flowers delicately breathe enchanting fragrances into the spring air.
  • Confederate jasmine grows as a neat tangle of slender wiry stems. These are covered with thick glossy evergreen leaves that are 2 in long, oval shaped, and pointed at both ends. The stems will twine and clamber over supports and cling to walls and hard surfaces with great ease and abandon.
  • Variegated Confederate Jasmine tolerates a wide range of soils. It will tolerate somewhat damp soils but is also quite drought tolerant when established. It prefers growing in sun but will tolerate some afternoon shade. In warmer climates the vine would appreciate a little break from the hottest part of the afternoon sun. Avoid pruning prior to the flowering season or you will cut off the flower buds. Fertilize once a year with a well balanced slow release fertilizer.

My personal garden (and I am a 'professional gardener). The quality of the plants and the packaging process was less than expected. Two of the three plants may survive with extensive gardener level care and attention.

I purchased these (3 sets of 40 live plants) for my father and he absolutely loves them! They are growing and sprouting wonderfully. He's impressed.

Arrived promptly, one of the shoots was without any leaves. Planted promptly with starter fertilizer, two with leaves doing okay, still no leaves on third after 3 weeks.....

Great plants. Strong growths. Very glad I could find a variegated Confederate Jasmin.

I looked up Jasmines and read that they survive Kentucky winters. But upon receiving my plant (which arrived very well) I discovered that these plants don't grow well in KY and must be brought indoors in winter. I was buying these to cover an arbor, not as a container plant. My dissatisfaction is that no where does this seller state where the plant grows. I blame myself for not researching enough and for kissing $28 goodbye.
