I ordered this for my Fluval FX6. The fit was perfect for replacement pads. The material seems nearly the same as the brand name pads and seem to function the same.

Ordered these for a fluval FX6 filter system for my 90 Gal RES turtle tank. Turtles need all the filtration they can get! The description and information provided align to use in a FX6 filter. These should fit snuggly into the center of each of the filter baskets. I have used other similar products for this purpose previously and most do fit snug. The requirement for snugness is so that dirty water if forced through the filter media and foam instead of the path of least resistance around it. These foam filters come precut and shrink wrapped. I unwrapped these more that a day before using in my filter so they could fully reshape. They did not end up fitting snuggly unfortunately which created openings where water could escape through without being filtered.I do of course have random filter supplies as anyone does with a turtle and was able to use some non precut filter floss to fill in the gaps this foam left open but when you purchase something for a specific fit and use and then have to supplement, the product doesn’t meet the requirements. I ended up deciding on two stars as the foam itself looks to be good quality and will work to filter. I am also giving the benefit of the doubt that perhaps this item needs more time to reshape after being vacuum packed. If that is the case, I note in the item would be helpful as a clear instruction. I will update again with my next filter change if the ones that are airing out fair any better.
