The DC only volt tester is well designed and made with some appreciated features you may not expect.The display is digital so you get an accurate voltage reading.The tip is pointed so if need be, you can pierce the insulation of a wire to test the voltage. That is something I avoid doing but it's nice to know there's an option if ever needed.The cable has a cover attached that goes over the pointed end so you don't get jabbed when pulling this out of your toolbox. Since it's attached, you can't lose the cover even if you forget to put it on when stored.I really appreciate that this tester works regardless of polarity. It even gives you an indication of polarity. A green light is displayed when the pointed end is on a negative, red if the pointed end is on a positive. You get an accurate reading regardless of polarity.Though I can't yet speak to durability, the tester appears to be well made and is very easy to use.

This is a handy continuity tester with a built in display.I have an older version as well, but its only rated for 12v systems. I never thought I would need to test 24v or 48v, but with the advent of ebikes I do. Since I don't want to always pull out the multimeter to do a simple continuity check, this fits the niche for me.I now need to check 12v, 24v (mobility scooter) 36/48v (ebikes) and 60v (2 wheel scooter) and this tool works with all but the last one. Thats a good range, and I'm happy to have this option for most of my fleet of toys,Its a short cord when coiled, but does extend for a surprising amount of reach. Display is bright and easy to read, and it comes with a built in tip for the *very* sharp point on the tool.Can recommend should be part of any toolbox for someone who is working with DC power

I was so glad to see that these devices are now available at an affordable price! I've borrowed a friend's tool truck model that he paid probably 20 times as much for, and have loved the concept ever since. Now that same idea is available for this price, I had to check it out!I've put this through some light use, and so far it works really well. The display seems to be accurate, and the red for positive and green for negative work as expected. Sadly, you can't hook this up to a battery in order to see if you're on a ground or a positive, but for this price, it's simply not possible.This comes with a clamp that has fair amounts of tension. Not crazy strong, but also easy enough to do without too much force. I'm happy with it overall.There's a probe cover on the cord, which I didn't expect to work well. Quite to my surprise, it actually does hang on well. Good enough to stay put when carrying or rattling around a toolbox drawer.Now for the only con, which is easily rectified. They assembled this and left the protective film on the display. It's clear, but it's cut larger than the display so it's definitely noticeable for OCD folks like myself! Thankfully, you can unscrew the cable and pull out the module, and then the film comes right off. Had this not been possible, I probably would've deducted a star because of the sheer annoyance, but since it's easily fixed, I won't.Finally, build quality is decent. Better than I expect for the price, but only by a bit. This isn't a tool truck item, and you're not going to step on it or smash it in a door or something and expect it to come out unscathed. I expect I'll probably get at least a few years out of it though without much issue.

Probe works for identifying a hot fuse but I question the accuracy. Using multiple batteries, it would read ~0.5-1V off of actual voltage tested with a multimeter. Positive/negative polarity do work.I question the stainless claim as it's highly magnetic and shouldn't be coated for the best accuracy. More expensive versions will use copper cores.

An inexpensive test light you can throw in your toolbox or truck. A bright large display show voltage and a Led shows reverse polarity. Works as it should.

This is a great tool for a low price. Many years ago the only testing tool I knew of was a 12v test probe that had a small light that would light up when a circuit was completed. Used for automotive 12v light was ok. This is incredible because it tells you the voltage that is being probed.From experience using a 12v test probe on a 36v golf cart doesn’t end well. It blows up the bulb as soon as more than 12v is found. This tool will accept voltage as low as 3v and up to 48v. If you are testing from negative to positive a red light will light up as well. If testing from positive to negative a green light will light up as well as showing the voltage.Bottom line this is a must have tool. It destroys the old 12v test lights in usability. It claims that it has a stainless steel sharp probe, but a magnet sticks to it so take that with a grain of salt. On the cord end a strong clamp is there to easily attach to a battery post or whatever. The cord will stretch close to 7 ft. I would guess.

This Test Light has a Good Durable body feel to it and a strong alligator clip that clips tightly, the protective sleeve that covers the point of the probe is a welcomed convenience, I don't know how many times I have poked myself getting my testers out of my toolbox drawers. (Does not say anywhere in description that I noticed that it is water resistant so be mindful of using it in wet/raining conditions).The cord is supposed to extend to 96"/8' but I did not try to extend it to its full length, I did stretch it out to over 4' which was good enough at the time.Overall: Nice Automotive test light for Homeowner/DIY person, I would recommend this item.See pictures where I tried it on both the polarities, clamp on negative and probe on positive & clamp on positive and probe on negative, the color the LED lights up indicates what polarity you are testing for.
