About this item

  • Automotive circuit detection tool: The VT01A circuit tester can detect circuit faults. For example: it can quickly determine whether the car battery, generator, sensor and other components are normal; check whether the fuse and wiring harness are disconnected, such as troubleshooting the car lights are not on or the window lifting fault; test the load capacity of the circuit, determine the circuit short circuit, etc
  • Intelligent measurement mode: This car voltage tester defaults to intelligent measurement mode, which can automatically measure 0.8~100V DC voltage, resistance measurement, and continuity measurement (less than 50Ω, it will beep)
  • Multi-function: This electrical circuit tester has a flashlight and backlight function, which can read clearly during the day or at night. The automatic shutdown function after 15 minutes of no operation can also be canceled. The data hold function freezes the value. Overload protection (250V) prevents damage to the device when high voltage is measured by mistake, suitable for complex vehicle circuit environments
  • User-friendly design: The spring wire of this car tester can be extended to 74.8in (1.9m), and the alligator clip can be opened to 0.79in (2cm). This automotive short circuit finder has a high-quality durable metal probe, which is protected by a probe cover. The small size makes it easy for professional car repairers, DIY enthusiasts, and car owners to carry
  • Accessories: VT01A auto circuit tester, 1*1.5V battery, manual, cloth bag, box

Bought this to work on my 2004 Chevy Pickup. They are known for electrical issues once they get older, but that’s a different story. It’s a very nice tool for the price. Comes with a handy case that definitely could have been a little longer. Pretty tight squeeze. Clear and easy to read display and a nice feature is that the rubber sleeve for the tip is actually attached so you wont lose it as easy. Better than I thought for about $17.

This is simply a circuit tester, but while I normally only need to check if there is power coming through (hot wire) it is nice to have an actual voltage reading if you need it without having to pull out the voltmeter. This unit comes in a nice compact case so it fits into my toolbox easily, and while I wish it had a label to tell me what it is, it is nice that it has a case at all. The cover for the pointy end is tethered to the cord so it will be harder to lose while the unit is in use, which I have a habit of doing, so nice touch.

I find that this Automotive Circuit Tester is very convenient to use, not attempting to hold 2 contacts on the item being tested. I found a broken wire to the tail light on my dual sport motorcycle quickly by attaching the ground to the frame and probing the wires going to the light. It designated the ground due to the continuity on the first wire that I poked with a beeping tone. The automatic sensor is super requiring no adjustment to check for voltage which made finding the break simple.

This meter is easy to attach and simple to use and read. Very handy for our spare vehicle that tends to run down the battery between uses without having to dig out the volt ohm meter and remember how to use it.

The POROMETISTO VT01A circuit tester turned out to be a very handy addition to my tool kit. It covers everything from basic voltage checks to polarity, continuity, and resistance testing—all in one compact device. The range from 0.8V to 100V DC makes it versatile for different car systems, and the readings are accurate every time. What I like most is the built-in flashlight and backlit display—super helpful when working in dim engine bays or under the dash. The controls are simple, and it feels durable in the hand. Also, being able to check fuses and battery condition quickly saves a lot of guesswork. If you're someone who works on cars regularly or just wants a dependable diagnostic tool for basic troubleshooting, this tester is worth grabbing. It’s easy to use, precise, and built for real-world use.

The automatic function seems to work OK when it detects a voltage it converts to a volt meter and without any voltage it then reads resistance overall pretty easy to use, but the cord is kind of short. The clamp is only useful on a battery post so if you’re trying to measure something inside your car, you will have to use a long extension.

I bought this predominantly to be used as an automotive type voltage and circuit tester though supposedly it is capable of measuring resistance as well. It has a pretty standard on/off switch, a data hold switch to keep the data reading from disappearing, and a combo screen backlight and flashlight switch. The digital readout is fairly easy to see and read. It comes in a nice canvas like carrying case however, to get it all back in the bag, you have to remove the plastic safety cover from the tip of the probe. Only then will it all fit inside. To insert the AAA battery, turn the unit over and remove the extremely tiny screw and SLIDE that piece towards the rear of the unit to insert the battery. That information is nowhere in the instructions. Speaking of instructions, in one spot it tells you to NOT try to measure any voltage over 110 as you could damage the instrument. Then a few sentences below, it states Conditions for use: CAT III 300V. In the manufacturers advertisement it states it measures 0.8 V - 100VDC. This is confusing. As previously stated, I am using this for automotive diagnosis so I will be under 14 VDC. Is it worth just over $17, sure. Other than the confusing voltage statements, it seems to be made fairly well. And it beats my current tester which is just a probe, a light, and a wire with a clamp!

What a bargain. This is a very handy tool for quick and easy DC electrical diagnosing. It has an audible beep for continuity. The screen is backlit which is pretty much a necessity. It feels pretty well made and I love the probe cap which is connected to the cable so you don't lose it. As long as it lasts a while I'll be very happy with it.I do have a couple of issues to mention. The case needs to be a half inch longer. At the current length you really have to press the probe tightly into it in order to zip it up. Doing this puts a lot of stress on where the cable exits the handle and that will lead to premature wear and failure. I was disappointed but I chose to just not use the case. Also, make the battery cap so you don't have to remove a screw to access it. Just have it slide off and on and click into place. It's frustrating to change the battery in the middle of a job since you'll need to find a little screwdriver and fiddly with a tiny screw that you can easily lose.
