Really like this simple little shield now, but initially it was difficult to figure out, but it really is simple. The biggest problem I had was that the grbl software doesn't match the pins on my Arduino, so I mistakenly thought there was a problem with the shield, but proved it works with self made scripts.

Upon installing the CNC Shield as shown, module broke off the board.

This board needs you to place a jumper between the EN and GROUND to work (2 pins above the STEP/DIR pins for the X, Y, Z axes). Also if you are connecting it straight to an UNO clone you must power the UNO with an outside source, this board does not power it through the 12v. I only learned all this after I tried 2 of the same board from a different Amazon seller and they seemed dead too. It was then I figured I was doing something wrong. It's hard to rate lower than 4 because it works but as I said the back looks a little rough and the lack of included instruction really bit me ultimately.

Super low quality, and no jumpers! No instructions too.

Make sure to purchase jumper pins for this because it does not come with them. You can find them by using these keywords "Jumper Caps Standard Circuit Board Jumper Cap Shunts Short Circuit Connection Pin Blocks". all they do is short two pins. These are used on the 6 pins under each stepper driver in order to set their accuracy by step subdivisions. It cost around $5 for 30 of them. Id rather the manufacturer of the board just charge me an extra buck or two for them instead of me buying way more than I need.Works as it should. No problems at all. Easy to set up. There are youtube videos that will walk you through it if you're having issues. I wouldn't recommend to anyone who doesn't know what their doing. You will need to be computer literate in order to use.

Very customizable. Recommend getting better heatsinks if you're going to run your steppers for long periods of time. Also some quality heatsink compound.
