In Florida, most pools are enclosed by a screened cage, so that they can be enjoyed at length without fear of mosquitos (which are a real problem here). Accordingly, leaves falling into the pool are a minor problem. For us, the real problem is dust and very fine trash that can filter through the screen, along with huge amounts of pollen from all the vegetation around (especially the ubiquitous live oaks). This organic matter really challenges the pool's sanitation system and why frequent hyper-chlorinating shock must be used. Shock acts as a flocculent, killing algae and other microbial life and causing it to settle on the bottom as a fine silt.An earlier model of this pool cleaner I considered apparently was unable to effectively remove the silt on the pool bottom, as reflected in its reviews. As a result, I went with this "upgraded" model which maintained that it could remove both leaf/twig trash and silt. Guess what? It can't.It simply sucks up the silt and blows it out the top, turning your clear pool into a cloudy, murky mess. Then you have to add more shock and wait a couple of days for the sediment to fall back to the floor. Then you have to rig up the vacuum hose and manually clean your pool as you've always done.So NO labor savings. In fact, it makes for a great deal MORE work.If you're considering a robotic pool cleaner, make sure to examine any photos of the filter casing. If it just has a fine mesh covering, it will NOT capture silt. You need a pool cleaner with multi-stage filtering that can pick up and trap small trash items as well as the fine silt on the bottom. Ideally, check with a local pool store to see if they have a demo program. You really want to see something that costs this much money in action before you commit to buying one.Fortunately, this particular unit is no longer available, so you can't be fooled into buying it. But I cannot recommend buying any cordless robotic cleaner unless it is proven in a demonstration to remove the fine silt on your pool floor. My search continues. So should yours.

I had borrowed my uncles Wybot Osprey 700 (a now 1.5yr old model) when my pool pump powered cleaning robot wasn't able to get enough suction from my now variable speed pool pump. I was quite impressed with his Wybot that I did my own research and discovered this WYBOT C1 Pro and WYBOT C1. I decided on the Pro since it has an App. The robot arrived in a well packaged box with a few extra pieces to add buoyancy if needed. I charged it and just before putting it in the pool I loaded up the app on my phone, but couldn't login via the app. I tracked it down to the "safe site" setting on my EERO and had to setup a profile on the EERO to include my cell phone and then add wybotpool.com to the site sites list. After this was done the App worked flawlessly. I powered on the Wybot C1 Pro while it say poolside (NOT in the water yet) and it appeared in the app immediately. I then setup my pool profile (shape of pool: Freeform) and the pool lining type: Gunite). I set the cleaning (for the first go) at the default time and selected walls and floor. Finally I placed the Wybot into the water near the wall of the shallow end and after about 1 minute the robot started moving some water and off it went. I watched it clean the perimeter of the pool and then I checked back on it some 2 hours later and it had parked itself against the shallow-end wall. I used the provided hook to retrieve the robot. I cleaned out the basket which had a LOT of material (leaves and sand). After allowing some time for the robot to air dry (~2 hours) I attached the charger. The next day I ran the robot a second time and selected Floors only and once again I was impressed with the amount of sand and material in the basket. I can see the pool is very, very clean now. I will likely wait till next weekend to run it a third time. You don't need the app to select the cleaning method of walls and or Floors, as you can select this by pressing the power button to cycle through, but you will want the app if you want to setup the pool profile and the cleaning cycles.
