The metal is good material, the lock functions well. If this is something you need, this option is good.

I installed this in my garage to store a key for the door leading into my house. It only took one time of my 3 year-old locking me out in the garage to realize that I need this product, luckily my wife was home that time. Now I have a backup plan should that ever happen again. This lock box is decently heavy and made of sufficiently thick steel. It was simple to mount to the wall and easy to set the combination. I can speak to how well is hold up in the elements because mine is installed indoors, but it does have a decent coat of paint on it so it would probably hold up for several years. This lock box is definitely not impenetrable. If someone really wanted to break into it or tear it off a wall, they could. Even if this was installed on a brick wall, a well placed hit from a sledge hammer would surely tear in from the wall. That being said, it is certainly safer than leaving your spare key under your door mat or under a nearby rock. Overall, this was a practical solution for a reasonable price.

Easy to set or change the code (clear instructions), good sized and feels heavy duty. I haven’t mounted it outside yet as I am thinking to maybe use it inside the house. I like that it’s relatively compact so it could be hidden, instead of mounted, somewhere around the exterior or the interior of the house. Small enough to hide in a patio rafter, under a decent sized rock, padded seat cushion, etc. … yet sturdy enough it seems like it would take a few minutes to break into if found by someone you didn’t want to find it. Store house keys, cabinet keys, safe keys, coins – anything important enough to store and hide that will fit it in this key holder.

Installing this heavy duty lock box on my wall was a breeze. It comes with four anchors and 4 screws. Simply pop out the perforated holes, and draw the marks on the wall. Drill the hole and insert anchors, and install the lock. Changing the combination is easy as well. Enter the default code of 0-0-0-0 and move the switch in the back from A to B. Then change to desired code and switch back from B to A.

Like this lock box a lot. It was exactly what I was looking for. Probably could be opened if someone was determined with some type of tool; but it serves the purpose. I put in a hidden spot so it just provides that extra step of protection. Easy to set the combination.

I'm using this for a short-term rental. We haven't had any guests yet, but it seems easy enough to use - fingers crossed! It was very easy to install on our wood siding and super easy to set and reset the combination. There are 2 slight issues though:1. The little metal piece that provides resistance when the lock box opens regularly falls out. It's really no problem for me to just pick it up & put it back in, but this may pose an issue when guests are using it.2. The length from the keyring hook to the bottom of the box is pretty short - as you can see in the photos, you have to really jam a keychain in there. Even without a keychain - just a key and a standard sized ring - it's not quite long enough for the key to hang as intended.

I've been using this for a while now and really like it. It's great for keeping extra keys outside safely. The code is easy to set and use. It's strong and hasn't had any problems with rain. I recommend it.
