Like the previous reviewer I also have a 2007 Vstrom 650 (K7). With a Vstrom radiator costing over $800 I thought some protection would be warranted. I first fabricated a DIY rad guard using some expanded metal and aluminum bar stock. Although my design was functional, mounting was less than elegant. I decided to give the Xitomer a try. I was surprised by the design and quality for the price (~$30}. I agree with the other poster that the material could be a bit thicker but it's adequate. The guard has a hardened coating similar to anodize, might not be powder coat. Fitment requires a little bit of flexing but nothing distorted. I didn't mount the oil cooler guard as the factory guard is adequate. If you ride muddy roads the oil cooler will get clogged anyway. Adding another oil guard on top of the factory will just make it harder to clean and catch more debris. You are more likely to get radiator damage from highway travel, similar to when you get windshield damage on a car from a bouncing or kicked up stone. I think this quard will add a degree or two of extra protection.

Would like it to be stiffer for better protection, but this is one of the few remaining guards for the K7 model. It took a little bit of bending to get it in place, but once there it is a good fit.Definitely worth it!
