Took me a while to use this as I didn't have a chuck that could hold it initially, but now that I've had a chance to play with it, I find it's very nice and it holds the blank securely.

I have been wanting to start turning some pens, so thought this would be a good product to check out. I have another mandrel, but never hurts to have more than one. Right out of the plastic tube it comes in, this is a very well made unit, heavy duty with an outstanding fit and finish. Just so good looking and hefty. Both parts fit perfectly and the centers line up pretty much exactly.Nothing but good to say about this, fair price, would gladly recommend.

Both ends were were true and straight. Live end spins fine. I prefer turning using this method rather than a pen mandrel.
