Our family loves to hike and camp. However, we're sometimes concerned with losing track of one another. This is a great solution to calm those fears. When this set of walkie talkies arrived, we easily set them up. They are easy to use too. They work -- and work very well. Sound quality was excellent -- even at fairly distant range too.We initially tested them with a church scouting group. They are rugged enough to withstand multiple falls, drops, roughhousing and constant scouting horseplay. I was surprised by the range. Voice quality was excellent even miles apart. The battery life was very good too. I should add that there are additional features -- flashlight, weather band radio, SOS siren, etc. -- that are great additions when needed.Overall, this walkie talkie radio set is a great find. It's a tremendous value that really changed the ways we visit the great outdoors.

Ok, y'all. Who doesn't love a fun multi-purpose walkie? Our kiddos are LOVING these when we are out at the ranch house with family. There are 6 boy cousins, ages 3 to 11... so this set of six was literally PERFECT for our needs!Best part? These are RECHARGEABLE, so no scrambling for batteries (allllll the time... moms IYKYK)! SCORE! They're very easy to use and the kiddos figured out the functions and features VERY quickly. Our 5 year old is obsessed with the weather, so the fact that there's a button to give current and future weather conditions, he's LOVING it. The boys are able to spread out alllllll around the house and fishing pond and communicate with one another (both inside and outside of the house). They even play "hide and go seek" using them, and it's great that they EACH get to use one.Worried about safety features? This one has an SOS button (which we haven't really put to use), but also has a built in light for when playing outside as the sun is setting. In summer time, we'll be using that light to make sure we don't step on any snakes once the sun goes down... eeeek.Overall, this is a phenomenal value for SIX walkie-talkies! Great features... impressive battery life on a single charge... rechargeable... multi-colored (for each kid to remember which one belongs to them)... safety features... and hours of fun! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this set, y'all.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered these and after they arrived and I was able to test them out I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I think this is a pretty nice set of walkie talkies. When I first installed the batteries (each comes with 3 AA rechargeable batteries plus charging cables) I noticed each unit seemed to be on different settings so the first thing I did was a quick reset on all of them so the were all starting off from square one. Then I synced the channels and security channels and they were ready to go.These are really easy to use once they're synced. A hold of the menu button turns them on or off and to talk you just press and hold the button on the left side of the unit. The lamp and sos buttons adjust the volume up and down with a quick push. Those are basically the only controls you need to use to talk with these. So if you explain that to kids and can get them to not push every other button it should be even simple enough for them to use without trouble. If you hold the lamp button turns on and off a small light in the top of the unit. If you hold the SOS button it sounds an alarm on all synced units within range that are on. SOS turns off by pushing the menu/power button if I remember correctly. There are other settings and features but it's all explained in the manual so I won't go into more detail here. Just wanted to mention what I thought was important. The only thing I wish was different, and I don't know if this is even possible but I wish they could have included one charging cable that would charge all six at once, or two cable that charged three at once instead of the three cables that do two each. Maybe that's not possible to do charging wise I don't know.I think these work pretty well and they're nice and colorful so it should be easy to keep track of which goes to who. I consider them to be a decent value and I recommend them.

Most interesting is the variety of features these have, a few of which would get minimal or occasional use which may be challenging for young children. There are a variety of walkie talkies. Many of us remember the basic children's toy variety with disposable batteries, limited range and finite features. These are not of that variety but at less than $20 apiece they could be, just little learning curve would be necessary. The instructions, like is the case with many imported products are a little confusing but once, adding some trial and error, they are reasonably effective. It may have just been a copying mishap but the size of the print appeared to get smaller and harder to read as I progressed through the instructions. I think a very good use of these radios is for people who are into emergency preparedness on a limited budget. These are an easier purchase to stash away for the day that may never come than some of the more expensive items that are out there, and they do have useful additional features applicable to an emergent situation. As far as functionality goes they have great range, a visible backlit display, battery saver mode, a flashlight, battery low gauge, and weather alert mode, all generally useful and practical. I tested all six radios in the package and they all functioned evenly well so I feel they were manufactured to a high reliability standard.

For areal contact, this set of six radios is great for amusement parks, camping, shopping, around the farm or just for fun. (You don't need cell phones for everything!)To minimize radio interference, the radios permit frequency tweakage (easy). The colors are fun.
